  • • As a Billing Operations Specialist at SonarSource SA, you will be at the heart of our Quote-to-Cash (QTC) process, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of billing operations that directly impact our revenue, cash flow, and customer satisfaction. This is a critical, hands-on role where meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to operational excellence are paramount. You will be responsible for the final, crucial steps of the QTC cycle, transforming approved quotes into seamlessly billed orders.
  • • Your primary focus will be on managing and processing high volumes of customer orders with surgical precision. This involves a deep understanding of our billing systems, policies, and procedures to ensure every transaction is handled correctly. You will be the guardian of operational compliance, ensuring that all billing activities adhere to stringent financial standards, including ASC 606, which governs revenue recognition. This responsibility means your work directly influences how SonarSource recognizes revenue and collects cash, making your role indispensable to the company's financial health.
  • • Daily, you will be immersed in detailed queue management, meticulously reviewing and processing billing requests. This proactive approach ensures that our billing cycles run smoothly and efficiently, minimizing errors and delays. You will work closely with Sales, Finance, and Customer Success teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise, acting as a key point of contact for billing-related queries and problem-solving.
  • • A significant aspect of your role will involve the creation and management of customer billing records within our systems. This includes setting up new accounts, updating existing customer information, and ensuring the integrity of billing data. You will be responsible for generating accurate invoices, ensuring they reflect the correct products, quantities, pricing, and terms as per the sales agreements.
  • • You will play a vital role in the month-end and quarter-end closing processes, ensuring all billing activities are completed accurately and on time. This requires a strong sense of urgency and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively during peak periods. Your contribution to these closing cycles is essential for timely financial reporting and analysis.
  • • Beyond routine processing, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our billing operations. This involves identifying inefficiencies, suggesting process enhancements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that streamline workflows, reduce errors, and improve overall operational effectiveness. Your insights will help shape the future of our billing practices.
  • • You will also be involved in handling customer billing inquiries and disputes, providing clear and concise explanations, and working towards swift and satisfactory resolutions. Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction through efficient and accurate billing support is a key objective.
  • • This role demands a proactive and analytical mindset. You will be expected to identify potential issues before they escalate, conduct root cause analysis for any billing errors, and implement corrective actions. Your ability to interpret sales orders, contracts, and other relevant documentation will be crucial for ensuring accurate billing configurations.
  • • As part of a dynamic and growing company, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team that is passionate about building great products and supporting our global user base. SonarSource is committed to fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. You will be empowered to take ownership of your work and make a tangible impact on the company's success.
  • • This is a fixed-term contract position, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading software company during a period of significant growth and innovation. You will gain invaluable experience in a fast-paced, international environment, working with cutting-edge technology and a dedicated team.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience in billing operations, order processing, or a similar finance/operations role, with a strong understanding of the quote-to-cash cycle.
  • • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a demonstrated ability to manage high volumes of data and transactions reliably.
  • • Familiarity with financial principles and accounting standards, particularly revenue recognition (e.g., ASC 606), is highly desirable.
  • • Proficiency in using billing software, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and ERP systems; experience with specific tools like Zuora or similar subscription billing platforms is a plus.
  • • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
  • • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams (Sales, Finance, Customer Success) and external stakeholders.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Gain hands-on experience in critical financial operations within a leading tech organization.
  • • Collaborative and supportive team environment with a strong company culture.
  • • Competitive compensation package for a fixed-term contract role.
  • • Exposure to cutting-edge technology and a mission-driven organization focused on developer productivity and code quality.
