- • Spearhead the market's operational excellence in delivering world-class best practices for billing, cash collections, and accounts receivable functions specifically for Home Health & Hospice agencies.
- • Actively collaborate with the Pennant Service Center AR Resource and Market AR Market Leaders to develop, meticulously monitor, and consistently maintain these high-standard best practices across the designated market.
- • Foster a spirit of shared ownership by partnering with fellow billers, AR Market Leaders, and Service Center AR Resources within the Home Health & Hospice Segment, collectively ensuring a superior AR function throughout the entire organization.
- • Cultivate accountability for billing and collection efforts and procedures, guiding and empowering Billers and Billing Managers to achieve optimal results.
- • Provide essential front-line support to Billers and Billing Managers, addressing day-to-day inquiries and complex issues, guiding agency-specific collections strategies, and stepping in for active billing when necessary.
- • Develop and deploy effective tools and resources to enable robust process monitoring and proactive issue identification and resolution.
- • Partner closely with cluster Executive Directors to deliver comprehensive and impactful training programs for Billers and Billing Managers, ensuring a deep understanding of best practices and procedures.
- • Following training delivery, maintain a vigilant oversight of processes to guarantee adherence to established best practices, identifying areas for reinforcement or improvement.
- • Establish and nurture positive, collaborative, and productive working relationships with AR Service Center Resources, Billers/Billing Managers, other AR Market Leaders, payors, and referral sources, fostering a network of mutual support and efficiency.
- • Maintain an in-depth, comprehensive working knowledge of all relevant payor contracts, ensuring that all billing activities strictly adhere to contract provisions and terms.
- • Act as a key representative and advocate for the agency in resolving conflicts and addressing discrepancies with payers, striving for equitable and timely resolutions.
- • Possess and maintain a thorough understanding of government billing regulations, including detailed knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid requirements, serving as a primary resource for agency personnel on these critical matters.
- • Diligently monitor and audit for the presence of adequate Billing Notes, recognizing their crucial role in providing a clear audit trail, supporting appeal justifications, and ensuring overall audit compliance.
- • Actively participate in Cluster BAM meetings to identify systemic issues impacting AR practices, workflow inefficiencies, or system configurations, contributing to the standardization and implementation of best practices across all agencies.
- • Proactively monitor aged accounts receivables and related key performance metrics, ensuring agencies consistently meet established targets and providing active assistance to achieve these financial goals.
- • Meticulously review manual revenue adjustments, verifying proper documentation and ensuring timely submission for processing.
- • Offer support to billers in resolving errors related to the reconciliation of cash receipts and bank deposits, ensuring financial accuracy.
- • Guarantee that all billing and patient account record systems are maintained in strict accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and in full compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
- • Uphold the highest standards of patient and agency information confidentiality through the implementation of effective controls and collaborative efforts within the billing operations team.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of billing and AR processes by identifying opportunities for optimization, automation, and enhanced efficiency.
- • Stay abreast of industry changes, regulatory updates, and technological advancements relevant to healthcare billing and revenue cycle management.
