📋 Description

  • • Serve as a pivotal Brocade SAN Migration Consultant, offering deep subject-matter expertise in fibre channel networking concepts and technologies essential for implementing and migrating to advanced Brocade SAN environments.
  • • Collaborate closely with customer technical staff, alongside Brocade Sales and Support teams, to meticulously recommend, validate, and deploy new features and platforms within the Brocade SAN ecosystem.
  • • Leverage extensive expertise to ensure the maintenance of a stable, high-performing SAN environment that strictly adheres to all Brocade best practice recommendations.
  • • Contribute significantly to strategic guidance, the implementation of industry-leading best practices, and comprehensive knowledge transfer to customer teams, empowering them for future success.
  • • Partner effectively with Brocade Sales and Pre-Sales teams to seamlessly integrate and drive the professional services elements of complex customer solutions, ensuring a unified and successful client engagement.
  • • Proactively identify all pre-requisites for successful project delivery, providing critical technical input and assisting with robust technical project planning to mitigate risks and ensure timely execution.
  • • Execute the efficient delivery of consulting services, precisely aligning with the objectives outlined within Statements of Work (SOWs), ensuring all contractual obligations and client expectations are met and exceeded.
  • • Develop comprehensive project documentation, including detailed designs, configurations, and migration plans, and perform thorough Transfer of Information (TOI) sessions with customers to ensure complete understanding and adoption.
  • • Fulfill Subject Matter Expert (SME) duties for projects and products within the Brocade Software Networking portfolio, acting as a go-to resource for complex technical challenges and strategic advice.
  • • Maintain a close and collaborative liaison with Product Management and Sales teams, providing valuable field insights and feedback to inform product development and sales strategies.
  • • Provide regular, clear, and concise status reporting on project progress, key milestones, and any potential challenges or risks, ensuring all stakeholders are consistently informed.
  • • Actively pursue and develop professional and technical skills through ongoing training and certifications to enhance delivery capabilities and maintain marketability within the Brocade ecosystem.
  • • Plan, design, build, run, and optimize Brocade product environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance meet evolving business needs.
  • • Analyze and resolve complex Storage Area Network (SAN) and network-related issues with precision and efficiency, minimizing downtime and impact on critical business operations.
  • • Act as the primary technical resource, both remotely and onsite, providing proactive support for engagements and reactive support for critical incidents, ensuring continuous operational integrity.
  • • Provide clear guidelines, implementation standards, and best practices to customers, fostering a culture of operational excellence and adherence to vendor recommendations.
  • • Develop detailed, customer-specific documentation for configurations, deployments, and ongoing support, creating a valuable knowledge base for the client's technical teams.
  • • Serve as a key technical point of contact for the customer’s technical teams and leadership, building strong relationships and ensuring effective communication and trust.
  • • Deliver impactful knowledge transfer sessions on Brocade products and solutions to customer staff, empowering them with the skills and understanding to manage and operate the environment effectively.
  • • Engage in pre-sales technical support activities to assist in developing new business initiatives, leveraging deep technical knowledge to articulate value propositions and solution designs.
  • • Analyze system logs and error reports to identify hardware and software issues, providing expert diagnosis and resolution for both onsite and remote scenarios.
  • • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Fibre Channel protocols, SAN architecture, and industry best practices, applying this knowledge to design and implement robust solutions.
  • • Ensure end-to-end multipathing is correctly implemented and functioning within customer environments, a critical component for SAN resilience.
  • • Assist customers in identifying End-of-Life/End-of-Service (EOL/EOS) devices and firmware, developing strategic plans for migration to supported configurations with minimal disruption.
  • • Analyze zone set configurations in legacy Cisco MDS or Brocade SANs, facilitating smooth transitions and conversions.
  • • Perform zoneset conversion from legacy Cisco MDS to Brocade zoning, and convert legacy domain/port zoning to PWWN zoning for enhanced manageability and security.
  • • Execute SAN migrations involving the consolidation of multiple SAN islands, streamlining infrastructure and improving operational efficiency.
  • • Configure advanced Brocade SAN features such as Extended Fabric, Virtual Fabrics, and Integrated Routing to enhance network capabilities and segmentation.
  • • Implement and customize monitoring features within Brocade SAN products, including Fabric Vision, MAPs, syslog, and SNMP, to provide comprehensive visibility and proactive alerting.
  • • Deploy and configure Brocade SAN management tools such as Brocade Network Advisor (BNA) and SANnav, enabling centralized control and simplified management.
  • • Implement Brocade SAN extension products in open systems (non-FICON) SAN environments, extending connectivity and capabilities.
  • • Create essential project documentation, including SAN migration plans, port-to-port cable move documents, "as-built" device configuration documentation, project status reports, and project summary reports, ensuring thorough project lifecycle management.
