- • Own the end-to-end discovery, analysis, and documentation of business requirements for World Book’s flagship digital products—including ClassMate AI, World Book Online, and the data-driven lesson builder—ensuring every feature shipped directly advances learning outcomes for K-12 teachers and students.
- • Act as the single source of truth between Product Management, Engineering, Editorial, UX, Data, and Customer Success teams; translate high-level strategic goals into granular user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows that developers can build against within two-week Scrum sprints.
- • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies—sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives—while continuously prioritizing the backlog against measurable KPIs such as student engagement minutes, teacher NPS, and content completion rates.
- • Conduct rigorous gap analyses and process-mapping workshops to surface automation opportunities, reduce manual editorial tasks, and unlock scalable personalization through AI-driven metadata tagging and recommendation engines.
- • Design and maintain data models, API contracts, and integration specifications that power seamless content ingestion, real-time analytics dashboards, and adaptive learning pathways across web, mobile, and LMS integrations.
- • Lead user-acceptance testing (UAT) cycles with classroom educators and district administrators; craft test scripts, coordinate pilot programs, and synthesize qualitative feedback into actionable defect tickets and enhancement requests.
- • Post-launch, monitor product telemetry and learning analytics via Power BI or Looker; translate findings into A/B test hypotheses and iterative backlog items that demonstrably improve student mastery and teacher efficiency.
- • Build and curate a living knowledge base—process documentation, data dictionaries, release notes, and training materials—to ensure cross-functional teams remain aligned and new hires ramp quickly.
- • Champion ethical AI and data-privacy best practices, ensuring compliance with COPPA, FERPA, and state-level student-data regulations while still enabling cutting-edge personalization.
- • Serve as the voice of the customer in quarterly roadmap reviews, presenting evidence-based recommendations that secure stakeholder buy-in and continued investment in digital innovation.
- • Mentor junior analysts and editorial staff on Agile principles, requirements elicitation techniques, and data-driven decision making, fostering a culture of continuous learning across the organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced experience preferred.
- • 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role within EdTech, SaaS, or digital-content environments.
- • Demonstrated proficiency with Agile Scrum practices and tooling—Jira, Confluence, or direct equivalents—plus the ability to write crisp user stories and acceptance criteria.
- • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills paired with hands-on experience in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to distill complex technical concepts for non-technical educators and executives.
