📋 Description

• The Business Analyst role at Howden (operating under Hyperion Group LLC) is pivotal in driving data-informed decision-making across insurance operations, enabling the organization to maintain its competitive edge through insightful analysis and process optimization. • Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering and interpreting business requirements from stakeholders across underwriting, claims, and customer service departments; analyzing large datasets using SQL and Excel to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; developing clear, visually engaging reports and dashboards in Power BI or Tableau to communicate insights to non-technical audiences; collaborating with IT and digital teams to define system enhancements and support the implementation of new tools or process changes; conducting root cause analysis on operational inefficiencies and recommending evidence-based solutions; facilitating workshops to align cross-functional teams on project goals and ensuring documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible; monitoring KPIs and performance metrics to track the impact of implemented changes and support continuous improvement initiatives; and acting as a trusted advisor to senior managers by translating business needs into technical specifications and vice versa.

• In this role, you will develop advanced analytical and stakeholder management skills, gaining deep exposure to the insurance industry’s operational complexities and regulatory landscape. You’ll build proficiency in data visualization, process mapping, and agile methodologies while contributing to high-impact projects that shape Howden’s digital transformation journey. Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to grow into senior analytical or project leadership roles, specialize in areas like risk modeling or customer analytics, or transition into broader business transformation or consulting paths — all supported by Howden’s investment in employee development and internal mobility.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical role, preferably within financial services, insurance, or a related regulated industry.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation, and advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and complex formulas).
• Experience creating and maintaining interactive dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools to support business decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with business process mapping techniques (e.g., BPMN, flowcharts) and experience working in agile or hybrid project environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
