📋 Description

• The Business Communications Senior Advisor is a senior-level communications professional responsible for leading strategic communications for complex provider negotiations, network-related issues, and other high-profile, sensitive business developments within Cigna Healthcare’s U.S. business.
• Day to day, the role involves leading communications strategy for public provider negotiations, anticipating reputational and regulatory risks, developing clear messaging for internal and external audiences, managing complex communications workstreams from strategy to delivery, and providing strategic oversight to ensure alignment across teams.
• The role serves as a trusted advisor to network contracting, sales, business, and communications leaders, providing sound counsel in ambiguous, fast-moving environments while ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with business and negotiation objectives.
• The person in this role can learn to influence cross-functional partners at a senior level, deepen expertise in issues and crisis communications within the healthcare sector, and drive strategic communications outcomes that support major business initiatives and negotiation objectives.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 plus years’ experience with a strong background in issues management, external communications, and/or crisis communications.
• Exceptional writing and messaging skills for internal and external audiences across multiple communication channels/vehicles.
• Sound judgment and confidence operating in high‑visibility, high‑pressure situations.
• Excellent organizational skills and experience handling multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to tie results to strategic business objectives.
• Proactive self-starter who demonstrates proven ability to operate as a senior advisor, influencing decisions and guiding cross-organizational teams through ambiguity.
