Business Development Manager, Digital & Connected, APAC(home -based)

📋 Description

• • Sell BSI Product Certification and Product Testing services specifically for Digital & Connected products and functionalities across the APAC region, with a focus on market access compliance such as CE (RED) for the EU and equivalent UK regulations.
• • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities by proactively hunting for prospects in the Digital & Connected and Cyber Security sectors, leveraging trade shows, client visits, and targeted outreach.
• • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their business needs, drivers, and compliance requirements, positioning BSI as a trusted supplier of certification services for global market entry.
• • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and execute campaigns that promote BSI’s certification services and generate qualified sales leads within the APAC territory.
• • Maintain in-depth knowledge of BSI’s certification processes, regulatory standards, and competitive landscape to effectively communicate technical and compliance advantages to potential clients.
• • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, and record sales and order information to ensure alignment with regional revenue targets and internal reporting requirements.
• • Work closely with global BSI delivery teams to coordinate resources and ensure customer expectations are met for certification and testing services.
• • Apply competitor analysis to highlight BSI’s unique strengths and service differentiators when engaging prospects and negotiating contracts.
• • Travel up to 30% of working time, primarily within China and occasionally internationally, to conduct client meetings, attend industry events, and support business development initiatives.
• • Communicate complex technical and regulatory concepts clearly and succinctly to non-technical stakeholders, including C-suite executives and engineering teams.
• • Maintain fluency in both Chinese and English, ensuring professional, accurate, and culturally appropriate communication in all client and internal interactions.
• • Stay updated on evolving product safety, quality, and cybersecurity regulations relevant to Digital & Connected products in key APAC markets and global regions recognizing BSI certifications.
• • Drive customer-centric outcomes by aligning sales strategies with BSI’s core behaviors: Client-centric, Agile, and Collaborative.
• • Support the Regional Commercial Director and Head of Commercial, Greater China, by providing regular updates on market trends, pipeline progress, and competitive intelligence.
