- • Serve as the first dedicated Business Development Manager for Romania, responsible for establishing and scaling Mollie’s presence in the Romanian market from the ground up.
- • Identify, prospect, and close new B2B opportunities within the Romanian SME and mid-market segments to drive rapid market share growth in e-commerce and retail sectors.
- • Build and maintain a high-activity outbound sales pipeline through strategic networking, cold outreach, and relationship development with local merchants and digital businesses.
- • Pitch Mollie’s localized payment solutions, emphasizing seamless integration, superior checkout experience for Romanian consumers, and streamlined money management for businesses.
- • Manage the full sales cycle—from initial discovery and product demonstration to contract negotiation and go-live implementation—with autonomy and ownership over territory performance.
- • Leverage deep knowledge of the Romanian e-commerce ecosystem, including local payment preferences, consumer behavior, and regulatory environment, to tailor messaging and positioning.
- • Act as the primary liaison between Romanian merchants and Mollie’s Product and Marketing teams, providing actionable market insights to inform product localization and go-to-market strategy.
- • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records in HubSpot to ensure precise forecasting, pipeline transparency, and alignment with regional sales targets.
- • Negotiate complex B2B deals with C-suite and decision-makers in merchant organizations, demonstrating strong consultative sales skills and technical understanding of payment APIs and integrations.
- • Operate as a self-driven “hunter” with the discipline to build a new market territory without existing infrastructure, requiring initiative, resilience, and proactive problem-solving.
- • Collaborate as part of the expanding Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) business development team, contributing to regional strategy while maintaining full ownership of the Romanian market.
- • Utilize AI tools integrated across Mollie’s platform to enhance sales efficiency, streamline prospecting, improve customer insights, and accelerate deal progression.
- • Deliver consistent, measurable results against quotas, with performance evaluated through pipeline volume, conversion rates, revenue generated, and customer acquisition metrics.
- • Represent Mollie as a trusted advisor to Romanian businesses seeking to reduce financial friction and scale their operations with a modern, all-in-one payment platform.
- • Travel within Romania as needed to attend industry events, meet prospects, and build partnerships with local business associations and digital commerce stakeholders.
- • Stay informed on evolving fintech trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes in Romania to maintain a competitive edge and adapt sales strategy accordingly.
