- • Serve as a Business Development Representative focused on retaining existing customers and acquiring new customers through consultative sales and relationship-building techniques in the education and faith-based sectors.
- • Close deals in a competitive environment by leveraging product knowledge of payment technology, education services, and learning management solutions.
- • Up-sell peripheral and value-added products to existing customers, including flagship products targeted at smaller K-12 schools and higher education institutions.
- • Generate qualified sales leads through cold calling and proactive outreach via phone, email, and internet-based seminars or meetings.
- • Develop and deliver customized proposals to prospects and current customers based on their specific needs and operational goals.
- • Provide expert advice and guidance to prospects and clients regarding product offerings, service capabilities, and implementation strategies.
- • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce CRM for contacts, accounts, leads, opportunities, and report generation.
- • Forecast sales performance and create actionable sales plans to meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
- • Conduct web-based and in-person presentations to small and large groups of decision-makers within educational and faith-based organizations.
- • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline by identifying new business opportunities and expanding relationships with existing clients.
- • Demonstrate strong follow-up skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in customer interactions and documentation.
- • Collaborate with internal teams to align sales strategies with company goals and customer needs.
- • Operate primarily within a single geographic market in the Western or Midwestern United States, with minimal travel required.
- • Utilize MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), sales management software, and web hosting platforms to support daily responsibilities.
- • Maintain a high energy level, positive attitude, and professional demeanor while engaging with customers and prospects.
- • Work in a hybrid environment: three days per week in-office for associates within 30 miles of a Nelnet office, with remote work for the remaining days.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- • 1–3 years of experience creating and maintaining business relationships via telephone
- • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals
- • Experience using Salesforce CRM or similar sales management software
- • Ability to cold call and generate qualified sales leads
- • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
