Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end analytics lifecycle for the National Pharmacy Team (NPT), a 200-person powerhouse inside Brown & Brown that unites pharmacists, actuaries, data engineers, developers, and clinical experts. You will turn millions of complex pharmaceutical transactions into crystal-clear visual stories that directly influence how Fortune-500 clients manage their pharmacy spend.
- • Partner daily with cross-functional squads—clients, account executives, actuaries, and clinicians—to translate raw business questions into precise analytical requirements. You will run discovery workshops, map data flows, and prioritize hypotheses so every dashboard or model we ship solves a real, revenue-impacting problem.
- • Design, build, and maintain scalable data models and algorithms in SQL and BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, or similar) that slice pharmacy claims by drug class, site of care, rebate tier, and clinical outcome. Your work will feed executive scorecards, client renewal decks, and regulatory filings, so accuracy and reproducibility are non-negotiable.
- • Create visually compelling dashboards that move beyond vanity metrics to highlight actionable levers—such as shifting 3% of specialty spend from medical to pharmacy benefits or flagging emerging high-cost gene therapies six months early. Expect to present findings to C-suite stakeholders and defend recommendations with both statistical rigor and plain-English narratives.
- • Champion data quality and observability by implementing automated tests, anomaly alerts, and lineage documentation. You will monitor pipeline health, triage data bugs, and perform root-cause analyses that prevent a single bad join from cascading into million-dollar mis-forecasts.
- • Drive continuous process improvement: automate manual ETL steps, refactor legacy queries for 10× speed gains, and introduce version control and CI/CD practices to our analytics codebase. Your innovations will free the team to focus on higher-order insights instead of firefighting.
- • Serve as the technical mentor for junior analysts—reviewing code, pair-programming on complex SQL, and running monthly “lunch-and-learns” on topics like window functions or cohort retention. Your coaching will raise the analytics IQ of the entire NPT organization.
- • Translate regulatory and HIPAA constraints into technical safeguards, ensuring every dataset you touch meets the strictest privacy and security standards. You will partner with Compliance to document controls and participate in quarterly audits without drama.
- • Contribute to the product roadmap by scouting emerging analytics trends—machine-learning-driven forecasting, synthetic control groups, or real-time streaming dashboards—and running quick proof-of-concepts that show tangible ROI before we scale.
- • Thrive in a 100 % remote-first culture that prizes meritocracy, self-direction, and customer obsession. You will manage multiple concurrent projects, shift priorities on short notice, and still deliver polished, insight-packed deliverables that make clients say, “I didn’t know data could do that.”
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related quantitative field plus 5+ years of hands-on experience in data analytics, preferably in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or insurance domains.
- • Expert-level proficiency in SQL (Oracle PL/SQL and PostgreSQL preferred) and proven ability to author complex, performant queries across multi-terabyte relational databases.
- • Demonstrated mastery of at least one major BI/visualization platform—Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, or similar—with a portfolio of dashboards that drove measurable business decisions.
- • Outstanding problem-solving, critical-thinking, and storytelling skills; able to translate statistical findings into clear, persuasive narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- • Nice-to-have: experience with Python, R, or VBA for advanced analytics; familiarity with machine-learning techniques (regression, clustering, decision trees, neural networks); prior use of project-tracking tools like Jira or Asana.
🏖️ Benefits
- • 100 % remote flexibility—work from anywhere in the USA with a generous home-office stipend and no commute.
- • Competitive base salary of $90,000–$100,000 plus annual performance bonus and 401(k) with company match.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance plus flexible spending accounts and free mental-health services.
- • Discretionary PTO policy that actually means “take the time you need,” plus 10+ paid holidays and tuition reimbursement for continuous learning.
