📋 Description

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of DNA Genotek’s Microsoft Power BI reporting environment to support genomic and microbiome research, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, companion animal genomics, and personalized medicine initiatives.
• Build and maintain scalable data models, ETL pipelines, and semantic layers to transform raw biological data into actionable insights for scientists and clinicians.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, product management, commercial, and clinical stakeholders to translate business needs into effective analytics solutions.
• Drive adoption and usage of Power BI dashboards and reports across internal teams and external customers to improve data consistency, automation, and scalability.
• Establish governance, security, and performance monitoring for the BI environment to ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational standards.
• Mentor junior analysts and promote best practices in data visualization, DAX development, and report authoring to strengthen team capability.
• Partner with IT and data engineering teams to integrate Power BI with enterprise data sources, including SQL databases, data lakes, and cloud platforms.
• Measure and report on BI performance metrics, user engagement, and impact on decision-making to support continuous improvement and business growth.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or analytics, with proven expertise in Microsoft Power BI (including Power BI Service, Desktop, and Report Server).
• Strong background in genomic, molecular biology, or life sciences data, including experience with nucleic acid testing, biomarker discovery, or clinical diagnostics data.
• Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, DAX, SQL, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience working in regulated industries such as diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare, with understanding of data privacy (HIPAA/GDPR) and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
