• As a foundational member of Light's Finance & Operations team, you will serve as a critical execution layer, working directly under the Head of Finance & Operations. Your responsibilities will span across key functional areas including Finance, Legal & Compliance, People Operations, and General Operations. This role is uniquely positioned at a pivotal stage of the company's growth, where foundational processes are being established for the first time. This presents a rare opportunity to actively participate in the design and implementation of operational frameworks, rather than merely executing pre-existing procedures. The experience gained in shaping these core processes early in one's career is invaluable and offers significant compounding benefits.
• The scope of this role is intentionally broad and dynamic, reflecting the fast-paced nature of a growing startup. On any given week, you might find yourself developing a novel FinOps workflow for tracking vendor contracts, assisting in the establishment of a new equity structure or onboarding process, or meticulously mapping out compliance deadlines across multiple international jurisdictions. The unifying elements across these diverse tasks are a commitment to precision, a strong sense of ownership, and the capacity to operate with speed while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. • Key responsibilities include providing direct execution-layer support across finance operations, legal & compliance, people operations, and general operations, working in close collaboration with the Head of Finance & Operations. You will actively support finance operations and processes, including meticulous vendor and customer tracking, and the seamless execution of financial flows across various integrated tools. Furthermore, you will contribute to people operations by assisting with onboarding procedures, managing HR data, and handling contractual matters. A significant aspect of the role involves managing the company's comprehensive legal document library, overseeing contract administration, and ensuring diligent compliance with entity-level filing obligations, thereby preventing any critical omissions.

🎯 Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in a fast-paced environment such as MBB consulting, investment banking, a high-growth startup, or a similarly demanding setting.
• Degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, or a related field with demonstrable academic strength.
• Solid accounting fundamentals and experience in financial modelling preferred; ability to understand financial mechanics and build structured analysis in Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership, ensuring tasks are completed thoroughly and efficiently.
• Genuinely AI-native: daily use of AI tools, thinking in terms of agents and automation first, and finding manual, repetitive workflows frustrating.
• Demonstrated interest in building, process improvements, internal tools, or workflow automation.
