- • The Business Operations Manager/Sr Manager plays a significant role in building the functions to unlock growth and help the Company scale, working directly with Whatnot's leadership team to lead large, critical initiatives and solve complicated, unstructured problems.
- • Day to day, the person will take Whatnot global by partnering with Product and Engineering to ensure international needs are built into scalable solutions, conduct primary research to identify high-impact opportunities across product, pricing, and incentives, and own key metrics defining success in each market including buyer and seller funnels, growth, marketing investments, and margin dynamics.
- • They will scale the marketing engine by bringing business-side rigor to how capital is deployed, measured, and prioritized, deep-diving into complex channel decisions, building nascent capabilities, and ensuring the org and hiring roadmap keeps pace with ambitions.
- • They will build a great business by partnering with StratFin and Data to lead analyses across key margin levers and growth investments, inform pricing decisions, and translate findings into concrete recommendations for leadership.
- • They will help Whatnot run better by building tooling to serve as a single source of truth for tracking progress against goals, highlighting key metrics, resource allocation, and blockers, and deliver for users by pressure-testing new products and capabilities, translating learnings into initiatives that improve buyer and seller experience, and owning resolution of high-impact issues end-to-end.
- • The role is based in a remote co-located team with hubs across the US, UK, Ireland, Poland, Germany, and Australia, at one of the fastest growing marketplaces recently named the #1 Best Startup Employer in America by Forbes.
- • The person can learn about the business while contributing to a variety of high-impact, critical initiatives, gaining exposure to global market expansion, marketing strategy, financial analysis, and operational excellence in a fast-moving, innovative environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field
- • 5-6+ years experience in consulting, investment banking/private equity, or a fast-growing startup
- • Professional fluency in German or French, with strong written and verbal communication skills
