C I Engineer - Burner

📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) design lifecycle for Zeeco’s advanced burner systems used in heaters, boilers, and fired equipment across oil & gas, refining, and petrochemical plants. From initial FEED through commissioning, you will deliver fully compliant, world-class solutions that meet API, NFPA, ISA, IEC, and ATEX/Ex standards.
• • Develop and critically review P&IDs, control narratives, logic diagrams, cause-and-effect matrices, and burner-management-system (BMS) philosophies. Your documentation will become the single source of truth for DCS, ESD, and safety-interlock integration on multi-million-dollar projects.
• • Prepare complete engineering deliverables: instrument indexes, datasheets, installation hook-ups, loop & wiring diagrams, cable schedules, junction-box layouts, and panel GA drawings. Every line you draw directly impacts plant safety, uptime, and emissions performance.
• • Size and select Ex-proof and intrinsically-safe instruments for Zone 1/2 and Division 1/2 hazardous areas, ensuring global regulatory acceptance. You will balance cost, lead-time, and technical risk while guaranteeing SIL-rated reliability.
• • Lead and participate in design reviews, HAZOP, HAZID, SIL verification studies, and client/EPC interface meetings. Your ability to communicate complex control logic to multi-disciplinary audiences will keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• • Provide technical leadership during vendor selection, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and on-site commissioning. When the unexpected happens at 2 a.m. on a remote refinery, you will diagnose burner-management faults and restore safe operation.
• • Collaborate seamlessly with Zeeco’s global engineering hubs in Tulsa, London, Seoul, Al-Khobar, and Tokyo. You will champion standardization, share lessons learned, and influence next-generation product roadmaps.
• • Drive continuous improvement initiatives—automating repetitive tasks, refining design templates, and mentoring junior engineers—to strengthen Zeeco’s reputation as the industry’s innovation leader.
• • Contribute to cutting-edge emissions-control projects, integrating continuous-emissions-monitoring systems (CEMS), flame scanners, and smart analyzers that help customers meet net-zero targets.
• • Travel domestically and internationally up to 20 % to support FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities, experiencing first-hand how your designs perform under real-world conditions.
