Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • • The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) role at Nest Health is a pioneering opportunity to deliver compassionate, in-home prenatal care to high-risk families, directly advancing the company’s mission to make comprehensive medical, behavioral, and social care radically accessible to underserved populations. As one of the first midwives in Nest’s new prenatal program, the CNM will not only provide hands-on care but also help shape the future of Nest’s family-centered care model by integrating prenatal services with primary, behavioral, and social support.
  • • Day to day, the CNM will deliver in-home prenatal visits through 36 weeks gestation, conducting routine maternal and fetal assessments, managing common pregnancy-related conditions, and providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed, patient-centered education and support to expectant mothers and their families. They will participate in an on-call rotation for prenatal concerns, with initial triage handled by a 24/7 RN line before escalation to the CNM as needed. The role includes coordinating care transitions at 36 weeks to delivering providers or facilities and ensuring a smooth handoff back to Nest for postpartum and dyad care after birth. The CNM will collaborate closely with Nest’s interdisciplinary team to seamlessly integrate prenatal care into the broader family care model, aiming to close care gaps and improve maternal-child health outcomes. Additionally, they will share insights and feedback from patient experiences to drive continuous improvement of the prenatal program as an early adopter and innovator.
  • • Nest Health is a value-based care startup founded in 2022 by former Louisiana Secretary of Health Dr. Rebekah Gee and Rebecca Kavoussi, dedicated to transforming healthcare access for America’s highest-risk families through an innovative in-home and virtual care model. The company has gained national recognition from outlets including 60 Minutes, The New York Times, Business Insider, and Inc., and has been honored on lists such as Inc.’s Female Founder 500 for 2025. Working at Nest offers the chance to be part of a fast-paced, mission-driven startup where autonomy, creativity, and collaboration are valued, and where employees can wear multiple hats, learn rapidly, and have a tangible impact on disrupting the U.S. healthcare system.
  • • In this role, the CNM will have the opportunity to be a trailblazer in Nest’s prenatal program, gaining deep experience in innovative, home-based care delivery while contributing to the design and refinement of a scalable model that could influence maternal health practices nationwide. They will develop expertise in care coordination across medical, behavioral, and social domains, strengthen their ability to serve Medicaid and underserved populations with cultural humility, and grow as a leader in a startup environment that values initiative, feedback, and solution-oriented thinking. The role offers meaningful professional growth in both clinical innovation and healthcare systems change.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Current certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with active licensure or eligibility in Louisiana
  • • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in prenatal and maternal care
  • • Commitment to health equity and experience serving Medicaid or underserved populations
  • • Comfort working in non-traditional, home-based care settings
  • • Strong communication, collaboration, and care coordination skills
  • • Openness to innovation and flexibility as an early participant in a new care model

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Opportunity to be a founding member of Nest’s prenatal program and help shape the future of innovative, family-centered care
  • • National recognition and association with an award-winning healthcare startup featured in 60 Minutes, The New York Times, Business Insider, and Inc.
  • • Autonomy and impact in a fast-paced startup environment where your voice is heard and your contributions directly influence care delivery and system change
  • • Flexible schedule with 10 to 20 hours per week, allowing for work-life balance while maintaining meaningful clinical engagement
  • • Support for professional growth through exposure to interdisciplinary care models, health equity initiatives, and cutting-edge value-based care practices
