Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Design advanced, deterministic chemistry problems with exactly one verifiable correct answer for training and evaluating frontier AI models.
- • Create reasoning-intensive tasks grounded in real scientific workflows across computational chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, and chemical engineering-adjacent domains.
- • Develop technically precise problems that require deep domain knowledge, numerical computation, and specialized software tools, avoiding textbook recall or superficial questions.
- • Write clear, rigorous, and concise technical explanations in English for all problem solutions and reasoning pathways.
- • Implement problem designs using Python and, where applicable, domain-specific chemistry software or simulation packages to ensure computational reproducibility.
- • Ensure all generated tasks are fully documented, reproducible, and validated with verified solutions that can be independently executed.
- • Collaborate with AI training teams to align problem complexity and structure with the evaluation needs of leading AI laboratories.
- • Maintain strict adherence to scientific accuracy and technical rigor in every aspect of problem design and documentation.
- • Work independently on a part-time, contract basis with a commitment of 20 hours per week over a 2-month project period, with potential for extension.
- • Deliver high-quality, production-ready chemistry training data that directly informs AI model training and benchmarking workflows.
- • Apply expertise in quantitative chemical reasoning to construct problems that challenge state-of-the-art AI systems with non-trivial computational and conceptual demands.
- • Use scientific tools and libraries to simulate reactions, analyze spectra, model molecular systems, or perform calculations that underpin problem design.
- • Ensure all outputs are structured for seamless integration into AI training pipelines with unambiguous input-output specifications.
- • Maintain meticulous attention to detail in problem formulation, solution verification, and documentation to prevent ambiguity or multiple valid answers.
- • Communicate clearly and professionally with technical teams to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities, and refine problem specifications.
- • Adapt problem designs based on feedback from AI evaluation results to improve difficulty, clarity, and scientific validity.
- • Work remotely with no requirement for physical presence, coordinating asynchronously across global teams.
- • Begin work immediately upon selection, with flexibility to manage schedule within the 20-hour weekly commitment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD in Chemistry or a related field
- • Research or industry experience involving computational or quantitative chemistry workflows
- • Strong Python skills; familiarity with scientific libraries
- • Strong understanding of modeling, numerical approaches, and chemical reasoning
- • Ability to design original, difficult problems that go beyond textbook recall
- • Excellent attention to detail and clear technical writing
🏖️ Benefits
- • Compensation up to 40 USD / hr
- • Contract / part-time arrangement with 20 hours per week commitment
- • Project duration of 2 months with potential for extension
- • Fully remote work with no location constraints within Colombia
