📋 Description
- • Design advanced, deterministic chemistry problems with exactly one verifiable correct answer for training and evaluating frontier AI models.
- • Create reasoning-intensive tasks grounded in real scientific workflows across computational chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, and chemical engineering-adjacent domains.
- • Develop problems that require deep domain knowledge, numerical computation, and precise application of chemical principles beyond textbook recall.
- • Use Python and domain-specific chemistry tools or simulation packages to build reproducible, computationally rigorous tasks.
- • Ensure all problems include fully verified solutions, step-by-step reasoning, and technically accurate documentation.
- • Write clear, concise, and rigorous technical explanations in English that articulate the logic and methodology behind each problem.
- • Collaborate with AI training teams to align problem complexity and structure with model evaluation needs.
- • Maintain strict adherence to technical precision, ensuring all outputs are reproducible and free of ambiguity or multiple interpretations.
- • Contribute to the creation of high-quality STEM training data used directly by leading AI laboratories.
- • Work independently to deliver high-fidelity chemistry content within a 2-month project window, with potential for extension.
- • Adapt problem design to challenge modern AI systems on computational accuracy, chemical intuition, and multi-step reasoning.
- • Apply specialized chemistry software or simulation tools where appropriate to generate realistic, industry-relevant scenarios.
- • Document all assumptions, parameters, and computational methods used in problem creation for auditability and scalability.
- • Ensure all deliverables meet exacting standards for technical correctness, clarity, and pedagogical rigor.
- • Maintain consistent communication with project leads to clarify requirements and deliver timely, high-quality outputs.
- • Focus exclusively on generating problems that test AI systems’ ability to perform precise chemical reasoning, not general knowledge or recall.
- • Prioritize depth over breadth, designing fewer but highly sophisticated problems that demand expert-level understanding.
- • Uphold scientific integrity by validating all solutions through computational or analytical verification.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD in Chemistry or a related field
- • Research or industry experience involving computational or quantitative chemistry workflows
- • Strong Python skills; familiarity with scientific libraries
- • Strong understanding of modeling, numerical approaches, and chemical reasoning
- • Ability to design original, difficult problems that go beyond textbook recall
- • Excellent attention to detail and clear technical writing
