📋 Description

• • Be the CEO’s closest thought-partner and execution engine at David Energy, a venture-backed startup on a mission to run the grid on clean energy 24/7. You will sit at the intersection of strategy, operations, and culture, turning the CEO’s highest-impact ideas into rigorous, measurable plans that the entire leadership team can execute against.
• • Own the company-wide strategic planning cadence. You will design and run quarterly and semi-annual OKR cycles, ensuring every objective is backed by data, every key result is measurable, and every initiative has a clear owner, timeline, and success metric. Your documents will become the single source of truth that aligns Finance, Product, Engineering, Sales, and Operations.
• • Run the weekly executive projects meeting like a high-signal operating system. You will curate the agenda, frame decisions, track accountability, and follow through on every open loop. When priorities drift or blockers emerge, you are the person who surfaces the issue, proposes options, and drives resolution before the next meeting.
• • Translate complex, ambiguous market opportunities into crisp strategic narratives. Whether we are evaluating a new DER aggregation product, entering a new ISO market, or pricing a novel demand-response contract, you will build the financial models, customer research summaries, and go-to-market scenarios that allow the leadership team to make fast, evidence-based decisions.
• • Project-manage cross-functional initiatives end-to-end. You will draft the project charter, align stakeholders, define milestones, and track weekly progress. When engineering needs regulatory clarity, when sales needs a pricing update, or when finance needs a sensitivity analysis, you are the connective tissue that keeps work moving and quality high.
• • Establish and continuously evolve David Energy’s “operating system” of strategy documents, decision logs, and metric dashboards. You will institutionalize retrospectives, post-mortems, and feedback loops so that every strategic cycle is better than the last. Over time, you will hire and lead a small strategy team to scale this capability across the company.
• • Champion a culture of intellectual honesty and written clarity. You will coach executives and functional leaders on how to frame decisions, write one-pagers, and use data to challenge assumptions. Your standards for concise, rigorous writing will become the company’s standards.
• • Serve as a proxy for the CEO on high-priority workstreams. From fundraising prep and board-meeting materials to regulatory filings and partnership negotiations, you will quarterback the details so the CEO can focus on external storytelling and capital raising.
• • Monitor real-time energy market trends, policy developments, and competitor moves. You will synthesize these signals into concise briefs that inform quarterly strategy reviews and keep the company ahead of the curve.
• • Build trust across a hybrid team in New York and remote locations. You will use asynchronous updates, clear documentation, and occasional travel to ensure every teammate feels connected to the strategy and confident in the plan.
