  • • The Chief of Staff, R&D is a high-impact, strategic partner embedded at the heart of ServiceTitan’s Research & Development organization, serving as a force multiplier for the Chief Technology and Product Officer and the broader R&D leadership team by accelerating decision-making, driving operational excellence, and ensuring focus on the right problems at the right time.
  • • Day to day, the role involves serving as a strategic partner to the Head of R&D, owning the R&D operating rhythm (including leadership meetings, quarterly planning, OKR tracking, and roadmap reviews), acting as a cross-functional connector between R&D and Finance, People Ops, GTM, and Corporate Engineering, maintaining insights and business health dashboards, leading strategic programs and special projects, drafting executive communications, and championing talent and culture initiatives in partnership with People Ops.
  • • The R&D organization at ServiceTitan is the engine of the company, building the platform that powers the trades industry; this role sits at the center of that engine with visibility into long-range product strategy, talent development, and organizational effectiveness, offering scope, impact, and the opportunity to help shape one of the most important organizations at ServiceTitan.
  • • In this role, the person will learn to operate at the intersection of strategy and execution in a high-growth SaaS environment, develop deep fluency in R&D organizational dynamics, sharpen analytical and financial acumen, enhance executive presence and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences, and build influence through emotional intelligence and operational leadership without relying on authority.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 8+ years of experience in strategy, operations, management consulting, or a Chief of Staff / Senior Program Management role within a high-growth SaaS or technology company
  • • At least 3 years in a Chief of Staff, Senior Program Manager, or equivalent strategic operational role working directly with VP-level or above leadership
  • • Deep fluency in how R&D organizations work, including understanding of the product development lifecycle, engineering org structures, and the relationship between roadmap, resourcing, and business outcomes
  • • Strong analytical and financial acumen — ability to build models, read a P&L, and translate numbers into a story that drives decisions
  • • Exceptional communication and executive presence — skilled at writing clearly, presenting confidently, and tailoring messages for audiences ranging from CTOs to IC engineers to board members
  • • Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
