  • • Serve as a bilingual Chin Matu-English phone interpreter, facilitating real-time verbal communication between limited-English speakers and English-speaking professionals across healthcare, 911, law enforcement, court, government, insurance, financial, utility, travel, hospitality, and general business sectors.
  • • Render accurate, complete, and impartial interpretations without omissions or additions, adhering strictly to established interpretation protocols and industry-specific terminology.
  • • Maintain professional, courteous, and culturally sensitive communication during high-stakes and emotionally intense calls, including emergency 911 responses, end-of-life conversations, pregnancy terminations, and matters involving sexual orientation or gender identity.
  • • Respond promptly to on-demand interpreting requests, ensuring timely service delivery and adherence to scheduled availability during assigned work hours.
  • • Remain neutral and objective throughout all interpreting sessions, avoiding any personal interaction with the limited-English-speaking person (LEP) unless explicitly permitted by the client.
  • • Demonstrate strong listening, retention, and note-taking skills to ensure precise conveyance of complex, technical, or non-technical content across languages.
  • • Interpret in both Chin Matu and English with proper pronunciation, enunciation, and appropriate cultural expressions to enhance clarity and mutual understanding.
  • • Adapt to evolving LanguageLine Solutions technology systems and platforms designed to improve service delivery and meet client demands.
  • • Work exclusively from a dedicated home office with a quiet, secure, and distraction-free environment to ensure confidentiality and call quality.
  • • Operate a personal device (desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone) running Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, iOS, or Android to access interpreting systems.
  • • Maintain high-speed internet with minimum download speeds of 5 Mbps, upload speeds of 3 Mbps, ping value ≤ 300 ms, and jitter ≤ 30 ms to ensure seamless audio transmission.
  • • Avoid use of restricted hardware (Huawei) and software (Kaspersky products) in compliance with company security protocols.
  • • Manage extended call durations without breaks during periods of high volume or emergency situations, maintaining service standards under pressure.
  • • Uphold strict confidentiality and data security practices while handling sensitive client and patient information.
  • • Possess the physical ability to remain stationary for prolonged periods while operating a computer, keyboard, and mouse, and to perform all job functions with sufficient manual dexterity.
  • • Be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring future visa sponsorship.
  • • Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • • Complete any required pre-employment background check or drug screen based on location.
  • • Understand and navigate cultural nuances and regional dialects within Chin Matu to effectively communicate with diverse LEP populations.
