  • • Serve as a bilingual Chin Senthang-English telephone interpreter, facilitating real-time verbal communication between limited-English speakers and English-speaking clients across healthcare, 911, law enforcement, court, government, insurance, financial, utilities, travel, hospitality, and general business sectors.
  • • Render accurate, complete, and unbiased interpretations of spoken conversations, adhering strictly to established interpretation protocols without adding, omitting, or altering meaning.
  • • Maintain professional, courteous, and neutral demeanor during all interpreting sessions, including high-stress scenarios such as emergency 911 calls, end-of-life discussions, pregnancy termination, vaccinations, and matters involving sexual orientation or gender expression.
  • • Interpret complex medical, legal, financial, and technical terminology accurately while demonstrating cultural competency and sensitivity to regional dialects and accent variations within the Chin Senthang language.
  • • Respond promptly to on-demand interpreting calls and remain available during scheduled work hours, ensuring consistent service delivery even during periods of high call volume.
  • • Adapt to evolving company technology systems and platforms designed to improve service delivery and meet client demands without disruption to service quality.
  • • Operate in a quiet, secure, distraction-free home office environment with dedicated equipment and a stable high-speed internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, ≤300 ms ping, ≤30 ms jitter).
  • • Use a personal device approved by LanguageLine Solutions — including desktops, laptops (Windows, macOS, ChromeOS), tablets (iPadOS, Android), or smartphones (iOS, Android) — while avoiding restricted brands such as Kaspersky or Huawei hardware.
  • • Follow all client-specific protocols, including refraining from direct interaction with Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals without explicit client permission.
  • • Utilize strong listening, retention, and note-taking skills to ensure precision and continuity during extended interpreting sessions that may last multiple minutes without breaks.
  • • Demonstrate commitment to confidentiality, impartiality, and ethical standards required in interpreting roles across sensitive industries.
  • • Possess the ability to remain calm, focused, and emotionally resilient during emotionally charged or prolonged interpreting engagements.
  • • Maintain punctuality and reliability in attendance and call response times as required by client and company standards.
  • • Be able to operate a keyboard and mouse, type efficiently, and remain in a stationary position for the majority of the workday.
  • • Have sufficient manual dexterity to interact with company-provided software systems and perform all essential job functions.
  • • Be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.
