- • As a Claim Examiner - Liability specializing in water damage claims, you will play a critical role in Sedgwick’s mission to support individuals and businesses facing unexpected losses by analyzing complex liability claims, determining appropriate benefits, and ensuring timely, fair resolutions that uphold industry best practices and client-specific requirements.
- • You will analyze and process technically difficult general liability claims, particularly those involving water damage, by investigating incidents, gathering factual evidence, assessing exposure, managing claims through structured action plans, and negotiating settlements within your designated authority to achieve equitable outcomes.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating liability, reviewing mitigation and remediation estimates using Xactimate, identifying potential subrogation opportunities, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, maintaining accurate claim documentation, and supporting Sedgwick’s quality assurance programs to ensure compliance and service excellence.

🎯 Requirements
- • 3-5 years of direct experience handling water damage claims with proven proficiency in mitigation/remediation estimate review and Xactimate estimating.
- • Five (5) years of liability claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required; a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
- • Current New York adjuster licensing is mandatory, or candidates must obtain it within 90 days of hire; strong negotiation skills are essential for settling claims within authority limits.
