šŸ“‹ Description

  • • Valon VM Inc. is at the forefront of revolutionizing mortgage servicing and consumer direct lending through a cutting-edge, technology-first approach. As a rapidly growing company backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and managing over $130 billion in loans, we have architected our platforms from the ground up, eschewing outdated legacy systems to foster unparalleled transparency, efficiency, and care for homeowners, lenders, and investors. Our modern, AI-native operating system unifies processes, driving advancements in automation, compliance, and continuous improvement across our servicing and lending operations.
  • • Our core mission is to simplify, secure, and financially empower every homeowner by transforming the mortgage experience. This ambitious goal is realized by assembling a team of world-class engineers, seasoned servicing experts, dedicated lending professionals, and visionary operations leaders who are united by a shared passion for enhancing the homeowner journey. We are not just redefining the present landscape of mortgage servicing and lending; we are actively creating new avenues for talented individuals to shape the future of this vital industry. As Valon expands its national presence, we are opening doors to exciting new roles and diverse career trajectories, offering a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-scaling organization where innovation, collaboration, and tangible customer impact are paramount. Mortgage is merely the starting point; we are building the future of regulated finance, and your contribution is integral to this vision.
  • • The Default Servicing team plays a pivotal role within Valon and the broader mortgage ecosystem. This team is dedicated to managing all default-related processes and strategically resolving mortgage loans that have entered default. Their critical work is instrumental in preventing foreclosures and mitigating losses for investors. A cornerstone of our approach is an unwavering commitment to homeowner transparency and financial literacy, which permeates our people, processes, and product development. We are deeply committed to supporting homeowners who require additional assistance to preserve their dream of homeownership.
  • • In this crucial Claims Analyst role, you will be instrumental in managing the entire lifecycle of claims filed with key entities such as Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, PMI, FHA, VA, and RHS. This encompasses the meticulous preparation, accurate filing, and diligent pursuit of reimbursement for these claims. The claim reimbursement process demands a comprehensive approach, involving the careful compilation of all necessary documentation and information to prepare each claim. A key responsibility is to accurately determine allowable expenses that can be claimed, strictly adhering to the specific guidelines set forth by each investor and insurer. All claims will be prepared and filed using specialized internal, investor, and government applications, requiring precision and attention to detail.
  • • You will be tasked with analyzing funds advanced on a mortgage loan to ascertain precisely what can be reimbursed by Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA, VA, and RHS. This position necessitates the application of a diverse array of complex methodologies, established procedures, and a deep understanding of the business unit’s products. A thorough comprehension of corporate and escrow advances is also essential. Qualified candidates will possess broad knowledge of general loan servicing functions and a robust understanding of all facets of default management. As an integral part of your role, you will gain intimate knowledge of Valon’s proprietary servicing system, allowing you to provide valuable, actionable feedback to our product and engineering teams, thereby contributing to the continuous enhancement of our technological capabilities.
  • • Key responsibilities include compiling and meticulously preparing comprehensive claims packages, ensuring all requisite invoices and supporting documents are included. You will proactively identify and escalate any missing documents or invoices critical for substantiating corporate and escrow advances, ensuring no claimable amount is overlooked. Accuracy is paramount as you prepare and file claims within the correct internal, investor, or government system to initiate the reimbursement process. A significant part of the role involves responding to and resolving all suspended claims, including promptly addressing investor/insurer requests for additional information or documentation. You will be responsible for reconciling claim funds and expenses written off, verifying that all eligible amounts have been filed for reimbursement. Furthermore, you will escalate any issues or problems involving claims that are at risk of denial or curtailment, or that cannot be filed within the designated timelines, to claims management. Your insights will be invaluable as you provide user feedback on current systems to the product and engineering team, helping to refine and improve our operational tools. Other duties as assigned will ensure a dynamic and comprehensive role.
