- • As a Claims Counsel at Stewart Title Guaranty Company, you will play a critical role in managing and resolving title insurance claims, ensuring legally sound decisions are made at the appropriate organizational level while mitigating risk and supporting the company’s mission to be the premier title and real estate services provider.
- • Day to day, you will manage a personal caseload of title insurance claims, including complex matters involving fraud, forgery, missed liens, access issues, and easement disputes; negotiate settlements with claimants and third parties; retain and monitor outside counsel; interpret legal and business environments; and recommend process improvements to enhance service delivery.
- • You will join Stewart’s legal and claims team within a globally recognized real estate services company that values inclusivity, career development, and smart growth, operating with a commitment to empowering employees to drive innovation and service excellence.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in title insurance law and claims management, develop advanced analytical and negotiation skills, and gain experience handling high-volume, high-stakes legal matters—positioning you for leadership in legal, risk management, or real estate services domains.
🎯 Requirements
- • Juris Doctorate and active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction
- • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred
- • 2+ years of related work experience, with title claim or real estate work experience strongly preferred
- • Proven ability to handle high-stress situations and high-volume workloads
- • Strong cross-functional written and verbal communication skills
- • Experience negotiating settlements and managing outside counsel
