- • Prescribe and review cannabis-based medicines (CBPM) for patients with complex, life-changing conditions as an Independent Prescriber, tailoring treatments to individual clinical needs.
- • Clinically check CBPM prescriptions for safety, accuracy, and appropriateness in alignment with GPhC standards and best practices.
- • Provide expert clinical guidance to both prescribers and patients on treatment options, dosing, and therapeutic outcomes for CBPM.
- • Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in full compliance with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) regulatory requirements.
- • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary clinical team to develop and refine clinical pathways, improve service delivery, and enhance patient outcomes.
- • Support the dispensary team by resolving complex clinical queries related to CBPM formulations, interactions, and patient-specific considerations.
- • Deliver education and training sessions on CBPM to patients, clinicians, and internal staff to promote safe and informed use of cannabis-based treatments.
- • Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and proposing evidence-based solutions to streamline workflows.
- • Work three days per week on-site at the Bristol clinic and two days remotely, with core hours of 11am to 8pm on weekdays.
- • Attend two weekend shifts per month (Saturday or Sunday), with days in lieu provided for all weekend working.
- • Engage in professional development opportunities, including representing Montu UK at industry events and collaborating across teams to expand clinical expertise.
- • Act as a key clinical resource in a rapidly evolving specialty, helping to shape the future of patient care in the UK’s cannabis-based medicine sector.
🎯 Requirements
- • GPhC registered pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification
- • At least 2 years of prescribing experience
- • Experience working in a clinical setting
- • Knowledge of cannabis-based medicines (CBPM) is desired but not essential, or willingness to undergo specialised training
- • Clear and confident communicator across clinical and non-clinical settings
- • Highly effective at managing time and prioritising competing demands
