Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect and own the end-to-end Azure & M365 cloud landscape: you will design, build, and continuously improve scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure that powers managed application services across the enterprise. Your blueprints will directly influence how thousands of users interact with business-critical systems every day, ensuring 99.9 % uptime and sub-second response times.
- • Drive license and consumption optimization: leverage Azure Cost Management, M365 usage analytics, and governance policies to cut waste, right-size resources, and negotiate smarter renewals—turning cloud spend into measurable ROI. Expect to reduce monthly Azure bills by 15-25 % within your first 90 days through automated tagging, reserved-instance planning, and policy-driven shutdowns.
- • Build bullet-proof Infrastructure-as-Code: craft reusable, version-controlled Terraform modules and Python/Java automation libraries that provision entire environments in minutes, not days, while enforcing security baselines and compliance guardrails. Your code will be the single source of truth for networking, identity, storage, and compute across dev, staging, and prod.
- • Own the CI/CD heartbeat: author and maintain GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps pipelines that compile, test, scan, and deploy both application code and cloud resources with zero-downtime blue-green or canary strategies, slashing release cycles from weeks to hours. You will integrate SAST/DAST scanning, license checks, and OWASP dependency scanning so every commit is production-ready.
- • Containerize and orchestrate everything: package microservices into lean Docker images, deploy them to AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), and implement Helm charts, network policies, and HPA/VPA for rock-solid auto-scaling under unpredictable load spikes. You will also set up GitOps workflows with Flux or ArgoCD to keep clusters declarative and drift-free.
- • Monitor, alert, and optimize relentlessly: instrument infrastructure with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Prometheus/Grafana dashboards; set SLOs/SLAs, chase down latency outliers, and turn raw metrics into actionable insights that prevent incidents before users notice. On-call rotations are lightweight thanks to self-healing automation you will build.
- • Be the translator between business and tech: work shoulder-to-shoulder with product owners, UX designers, and end users to convert high-level requirements and user stories into technical tasks, sprint plans, and working software that delights stakeholders. You will demo new features every sprint and gather feedback to iterate rapidly.
- • Champion DevOps culture and best practices: lead brown-bag sessions, define coding standards, conduct blameless post-mortems, and mentor junior engineers—elevating the entire team’s velocity and quality bar. Your internal blog posts and lunch-and-learns will become the go-to reference for cloud best practices.
- • Secure by design: embed Azure Security Center, Key Vault, and RBAC into every layer; enforce CIS benchmarks, run automated vulnerability scans, and maintain SOC-2 evidence without slowing delivery. You will also design zero-trust network segments and conditional-access policies that protect sensitive data.
- • Automate governance and compliance: create Azure Policy definitions and Terraform Sentinel rules that prevent non-compliant resources from ever reaching production, saving audit headaches and regulatory fines. Expect to reduce compliance review time by 50 % through automated evidence collection.
- • Innovate with emerging tech: evaluate new Azure services (e.g., Azure Container Apps, Dapr, Arc) and open-source tools; run proof-of-concepts that keep the platform two steps ahead of business demand. Your findings will feed directly into the quarterly architecture roadmap.
- • Document and share tribal knowledge: maintain living architecture diagrams, runbooks, and internal wikis so any engineer can onboard and contribute within days, not weeks. You will also record short Loom videos for complex workflows to accelerate knowledge transfer.
- • Participate in an agile, high-impact squad: attend daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retros; deliver incremental value every two weeks while adapting to shifting priorities in a fully remote environment. You will use Jira, Slack, and Miro to keep collaboration seamless across time zones.
