- • The Coder II role at SSM Health Care Corporation is a remote position focused on accurately coding and abstracting complex medical records to support billing, reimbursement, and compliance with healthcare regulations. This role is critical to ensuring accurate charge capture and resolving coding-related denials, directly impacting the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the organization.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing electronic health records and paper documentation, assigning CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes, identifying billable services from multiple data sources, consulting with providers to clarify documentation, resolving claim edits and denials, mentoring junior coding staff, and ensuring adherence to Medicare, NCCI, and payer-specific guidelines.

🎯 Requirements
- • Two years of professional coding experience
- • High school diploma or equivalent
- • One of the following certifications: CCA, CCS-P, COC, CPC®, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-A, or CCS (from AHIMA or AAPC)
