📋 Description
- • Lead Product Engineer – Observability (Enterprise App Monitoring) role at Allstate focuses on configuring, implementing, and supporting end-to-end monitoring for applications and platforms across on-prem, private, and public cloud environments.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting technical requirements to design optimal monitoring solutions, leading the design and architecture of digital products, managing production applications, meeting KPIs, and fostering a culture of prompt issue identification and system availability.
- • The role involves collaborating with security, platform engineering, and services teams to align software engineering efforts with Allstate’s vision for Enterprise Monitoring and Observability, while serving as a subject matter expert on business operations and technology ecosystems.
- • The engineer will coach teams on environment sizing, deployment strategies, disaster recovery planning, and architectural best practices, while developing infrastructure roadmaps and reporting on critical metrics to ensure system health and strategic alignment.
- • This position offers the opportunity to shape platform strategy, influence enterprise-wide standards, and drive adoption of reusable components and architectural roadmaps that support business growth and technology strategy.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of overall engineering experience designing or building software, tools, or automation that enable observability for distributed platforms and infrastructure.
- • 4 years of hands-on experience supporting at least one major observability platform (Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics, or OTEL), including configuration, dashboards, alerting, and integrations.
- • 3 years of development experience using one or more programming languages (Spring Boot/Java, Python, ReactJS, NodeJS), contributing to monitoring tools, automation, or integrations.
- • Proven hands-on experience with Kubernetes, plus practical experience on both Windows and Linux systems in enterprise or cloud environments.
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical delivery work, including documentation and presentations to technical and executive stakeholders.
