- • As an Outpatient Coder I at ProMedica Health System, you will translate healthcare services and procedures into standardized codes for outpatient accounts, ensuring accurate billing and timely accounts receivable processing.
- • You will work with Epic work quests to maintain coding timeliness, communicate with providers, coders, and clinical documentation specialists to resolve documentation gaps, and formulate, monitor, and respond to compliant documentation clarification requests.
- • ProMedica is a mission-driven, not-for-profit healthcare organization headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, serving communities across nine states with 10 hospitals and over 2,300 physicians and advanced practice providers, committed to improving health and well-being through clinical excellence and social determinants of health initiatives.
- • In this role, you will develop expertise in outpatient medical coding, gain experience with Epic and 3M 360 systems, deepen your understanding of the hospital revenue cycle, and contribute to accurate healthcare billing while working remotely part-time (20 hours/week) with flexible scheduling.
🎯 Requirements
- • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in HIT/HIM OR high school diploma AND completion of AHIMA Coding Basics Program and Coding Assessment and Training Solutions Program
- • Must be able to pass internal coding test
- • Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- • 1 year of outpatient coding experience
- • RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CCS-P certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire
