- • The Coding Manager leads operational coding functions within the Health Information Management Department, ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient coding across acute care facilities while driving team performance and revenue cycle goals.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include recruiting and onboarding coding staff, managing schedules and performance reviews, providing training and coaching, monitoring productivity, resolving workflow issues, and collaborating with clinical and revenue cycle leadership to align coding practices with organizational objectives.

- • In this role, you will develop leadership expertise in healthcare coding, drive process improvements using AI and data, mentor a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to strategic revenue cycle initiatives while advancing your career through certifications, tuition support, and recognition programs.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5-7 years of coding and leadership experience in healthcare, with extensive knowledge of pediatric coding specialty and ability to educate teams and providers.
- • Proven management experience in coding, thorough understanding of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG), and comprehensive knowledge of coding guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory compliance (including AHA Official Coding Guidelines).
- • Working proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR), coding software, Microsoft Office, and demonstrated advanced use of AI to improve coding processes and team performance.
- • Current certification in at least one of the following: CPC, CCS, CCS-P, CMPA, RHIA, or RHIT; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to prioritize under deadlines, provide constructive feedback, and foster professional growth and teamwork.
