  • • As a Collections Specialist I at Cable One, Inc. (operating under the Sparklight brand), you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health of the company by managing delinquent accounts and supporting timely revenue recovery, ensuring customers receive fair and accurate billing resolutions while upholding compliance with financial and regulatory standards.
  • • You will provide excellent customer service regarding collection issues, resolve billing errors and disputes associated with collection issues, and deliver credit and collections support to the Customer Care Sales team, acting as a trusted point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include entering bankruptcy notices into billing systems, responding to customer, associate, and collection agency inquiries, providing backup for other Collections Specialists and the Manager as needed, and maintaining the Credit and Collections email inbox to ensure timely communication and issue resolution.
  • • You will maintain collection reports, learn and comply with Cable One’s credit and collections practices and policies, and adhere to regulatory requirements including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), ensuring all activities meet internal controls and legal standards.
  • • You will assist with special projects as assigned, contributing to process improvements and team initiatives, while gaining exposure to cross-functional workflows within the finance and customer service divisions.
  • • You will acquire and evaluate consumer credit data, support statistical and predictive modeling efforts for new, expanding, or terminated accounts, and help resolve disputed amounts and payments, building analytical and problem-solving skills in a structured collections environment.
  • • This role consolidates collections functions from multiple Cable One systems into a centralized remote operation, offering you the opportunity to work within a standardized, efficient process that supports national consistency in credit management.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry, report generation, and daily task management.
  • • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree (A.A.) or relevant two-year college/technical school training preferred, or six months to one year of related experience in collections, customer service, or administrative support.
  • • Ability to learn and comply with Cable One’s credit and collections policies, regulatory requirements (including SOX), and internal procedures with attention to detail and accuracy.
