  • • As a Collections Specialist at First American Financial Corporation, you will play a critical role in resolving delinquent mortgage accounts through professional, empathetic, and compliant customer outreach, directly contributing to financial stability for borrowers and risk mitigation for the company.
  • • You will perform inbound and outbound collection calls across all stages of delinquency, researching and resolving issues contributing to customer delinquency while maintaining accurate, detailed records of all interactions and account activities.
  • • You will provide exceptional customer service by resolving complex account issues, discrepancies, and disputes, reviewing accounts for compliance with internal policies, investor requirements, and regulatory standards, and analyzing borrower financials to determine appropriate payment arrangements or retention options.
  • • You will operate within a fast-paced, collaborative environment with rotating Saturday shifts (11am–8pm EST, rotating Saturday 9am–3pm EST), requiring strong judgment, problem-solving, and the ability to navigate sensitive customer situations with professionalism while managing multiple priorities.

  • • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in mortgage collections, regulatory compliance (including FDCPA and bankruptcy law), financial analysis, and conflict resolution—building transferable skills that support long-term career growth in financial services, customer advocacy, or risk management.

🎯 Requirements

  • • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • • 1–3 years of mortgage servicing experience with proven high-volume collections experience.
  • • Strong knowledge of state and federal Fair Debt Collection Laws, U.S. Bankruptcy Code, and bankruptcy procedures/regulations.
  • • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to manage conflict, negotiate payment arrangements, and interact effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • • Ability to analyze moderate to high-complexity financial issues, make sound decisions, and maintain strong attention to detail while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • • Call center experience preferred; proficiency with CRM systems and documentation tools expected.
