Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end design, deployment, and governance of Google Tag Manager (GTM) and server-side GTM (sGTM) containers to ensure accurate, reliable conversion tracking across web and ad platforms.
- • Design and implement robust client-side and server-side data layers that standardize event schemas, enabling consistent tracking for marketing, commercial, and product teams.
- • Build and maintain high-quality data pipelines that transmit conversion and value signals to advertising platforms including Meta CAPI, Google Enhanced Conversions, TikTok Events API, and AppsFlyer, resolving data discrepancies and ensuring cross-platform consistency.
- • Develop and optimize ELT pipelines in BigQuery using dbt to transform raw event data into analyst-ready, governed data models that power commercial decision-making and experimentation.
- • Deploy and manage infrastructure for tracking systems using GCP (Cloud Run, Docker), Terraform, and GitHub Actions to ensure scalable, repeatable, and secure data flows.
- • Implement and audit GTM configurations across both client-side and server-side containers, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and strict enforcement of consent mode (e.g., OneTrust) to prevent pre-consent tag firing and PII leakage.
- • Collaborate directly with front-end engineers to ship custom JavaScript-based tracking solutions, validate event implementation in-browser, and debug instrumentation issues impacting data fidelity.
- • Establish and document clear data governance standards, event naming conventions, and tracking strategies that enable scalable adoption across teams and future product initiatives.
- • Drive experimentation readiness by ensuring tracking infrastructure supports reliable A/B test data collection and analysis via Optimizely, with clear lineage from event capture to metric calculation.
- • Maintain and improve data quality for marketing attribution and bidding systems by aligning tracking architecture with platform-specific requirements and industry best practices for server-side event delivery.
- • Ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other multi-region privacy regulations through technical controls embedded in the tracking stack, including consent management integration and data minimization practices.
- • Operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment between marketing, engineering, and data teams, using short feedback loops to rapidly iterate on tracking accuracy and experiment integrity.
- • Deliver production-ready, self-documented infrastructure that others can extend, audit, and maintain without dependency on the original implementer.
- • Translate business needs for commercial analytics into technical specifications for tracking, data modeling, and pipeline automation using BigQuery, dbt, and GTM/sGTM.
- • Proactively identify gaps in current tracking coverage, propose solutions, and implement fixes to close data quality gaps affecting marketing performance and revenue attribution.
- • Maintain visibility into the full data journey—from browser event to warehouse model—to ensure all downstream analytics, reporting, and bidding systems receive accurate, timely inputs.
- • Participate in defining and refining the company’s commercial data strategy by aligning tracking architecture with evolving marketing objectives and product roadmap.
🎯 Requirements
- • Production experience with GTM and sGTM, including data layer design, event schema implementation, writing custom GTM templates and sGTM client/transform logic
- • Strong JavaScript skills for writing custom GTM tags, implementing client-side event schemas, and debugging tracking instrumentation in the browser
- • Experience integrating conversion and value signals with advertising tools such as Meta CAPI, Google Enhanced Conversions, and server-side event APIs in production
- • Proven experience with dbt and analytics-engineering practices to build best-in-class data models
- • Experience creating a website data layer that informs marketing, commercial, and product teams
- • Working knowledge of cookie consent management (e.g., OneTrust) and familiarity with multi-region GDPR + CCPA
🏖️ Benefits
- • 4–6 month contract with option to convert to full-time by mutual agreement
- • Remote work eligibility across the United Kingdom and EU
- • Opportunity to build high-impact infrastructure from the ground up in a fast-moving commercial environment
- • Exposure to cutting-edge tools including GCP, BigQuery, dbt, Dagster, Optimizely, Braze, Mixpanel, and Terraform
