We are seeking a driven and sales-minded individual to join our team as a Commercial Associate, a role that is crucial to our growth trajectory.
- • This is a commission-based sales role, designed for individuals who are passionate about sales and eager to make a significant impact. It is an ideal opportunity for either a versatile sales generalist or a high-achieving Sales Development Representative (SDR) or Business Development Representative (BDR). At Kernel, we have a proven and effective outbound sales motion. Our top performers consistently achieve their targets and experience rapid career progression, often earning promotions within 12 months.
- • The outbound sales team is the engine driving Kernel's growth. As a Commercial Associate, you will play a high-impact, high-visibility role. Your primary responsibility will be to generate qualified pipeline by meticulously researching, prospecting, and engaging with target companies and key stakeholders. You will be entrusted with owning a book of pre-tiered accounts, leveraging Kernel’s proprietary data-driven insights to craft hyper-targeted outreach campaigns.
- • Your day-to-day activities will primarily involve executing a phone-driven outreach strategy, which is our most effective channel. This will be complemented by engagement through LinkedIn Direct Messages (DMs) and other relevant communication channels. We actively encourage Commercial Associates to think creatively and explore innovative methods for pipeline generation, including participating in or organizing events and implementing novel outbound strategies.
- • You will work in close partnership with our Marketing and Account Executive (AE) teams, ensuring alignment on strategy and messaging. Your core responsibilities will include identifying and researching high-fit companies and decision-makers using Kernel’s advanced data tools, and building/maintaining a consistently updated target list with precise qualification criteria.
- • You will execute a robust, phone-driven outbound prospecting cadence, incorporating cold calls and voicemails to secure meetings. A strategic approach to each account on your list is essential, requiring you to multithread effectively to book meetings. Your outreach will integrate LinkedIn, email, and phone touchpoints within multi-touch cadences.
- • A key part of the role involves booking qualified meetings for AEs and providing them with detailed, actionable call notes. You will also collaborate closely with the Marketing team to refine our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and messaging based on the valuable feedback you gather from the field.
- • Continuous improvement is vital. You will be expected to iterate on your messaging and cadences based on performance data and share critical field feedback to inform our product development and Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy. This role demands a proactive, entrepreneurial spirit, a strong work ethic, and a competitive, target-driven mindset.
