📋 Description

• • This role is a Commercial Banking Expert AI Trainer residency designed for senior research analysts and portfolio managers who want to gain hands-on experience shaping the future of AI in institutional banking. You will work at the intersection of deep financial expertise and frontier AI systems, helping to evaluate and improve how AI models reason, generalize, and make decisions in high-stakes financial contexts such as corporate, SME, and retail banking.
• • Day to day, you will develop and iterate realistic prompts to test AI-generated insights, systematically compare human versus machine judgment in investment reasoning, design frameworks that translate commercial banking operations (loan structuring, credit facilities, balance sheet and risk management) into AI challenge problems, and build and validate real-world credit cases and portfolio management frameworks to serve as expert benchmarks for evaluating AI systems.
• • You will join Mentis AI, a team formed by professionals from Lazard, Partners Group, and leading AI labs, operating across London and San Francisco, dedicated to advancing AI’s role in institutional investment and risk management through collaboration with top AI research groups.
• • In this role, you will deepen your understanding of how AI can be applied in banking, contribute to the development of evaluation standards for AI in finance, gain direct experience working with cutting-edge AI systems, and position yourself at the forefront of AI adoption in commercial banking—earning practical, early exposure to shaping AI’s use in high-stakes financial decision-making.
