- • As a Commercial Counsel at Lendable, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the legal infrastructure that supports the company’s rapid growth in the fintech space, ensuring that commercial agreements and capital markets transactions are structured efficiently and scalably.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements such as vendor, SaaS, data, marketing, partnership, and services contracts; leading commercial workstreams for capital markets activities like warehouse facilities and loan sale agreements; advising on bank partnership model agreements; and partnering with business, product, finance, and compliance teams to align legal terms with commercial objectives.
- • You will join a lean, high-caliber legal team at a fast-growing UK-based fintech unicorn that has been profitable since 2017 and is backed by top-tier investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs, with a mission to revolutionize consumer credit through technology.
- • In this role, you will have the opportunity to build scalable legal systems, templates, and playbooks; leverage AI and automation tools like Wordsmith to optimize contract lifecycle management; and directly influence how Lendable scales its legal function while expanding into the UK and US markets.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–5 years of practice experience at a top law firm and/or in-house at a fintech or financial services company
- • Demonstrated experience with capital markets transactions such as warehouse financings, forward flows, whole loan sales, or securitizations
- • Strong drafting and negotiation skills across a wide variety of commercial agreements with the ability to balance legal risk and commercial pragmatism
- • Comfortable working with AI and automation tools (e.g., Wordsmith, LLMs, CLM platforms) for drafting, review, and workflow automation
- • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and active bar membership in good standing
