- • Review and analyze full commercial HVAC bid packages, including mechanical drawings and Division 23 specifications, to identify scope gaps, risks, and missing requirements.
- • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for HVAC systems including ductwork, hydronic and refrigerant piping, equipment (AHUs, RTUs, chillers, boilers), diffusers, grilles, registers, and controls.
- • Extract and interpret technical requirements from construction drawings, schedules, addenda, and specifications to ensure accurate bid preparation.
- • Support the full bid lifecycle from initial plan review through final submission by collaborating with the lead estimator and internal operations teams.
- • Source, organize, and verify vendor and subcontractor quotes for HVAC equipment, materials, and specialty systems.
- • Apply labor units based on SMACNA/MCAA or client-specific standards to develop accurate labor estimates for all mechanical scopes.
- • Ensure compliance with mechanical codes including IMC and ASHRAE, as well as commercial construction industry standards.
- • Identify constructability issues and logistical challenges in proposed HVAC systems to mitigate risks before bid submission.
- • Coordinate with project management and engineering teams to maintain consistency and accuracy across all documentation and estimating outputs.
- • Prepare pricing assemblies and cost breakdowns for HVAC systems in alignment with project specifications and client requirements.
- • Work remotely on a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM US Eastern Time to support U.S.-based client operations.
- • Maintain high standards of precision and attention to detail across all estimating tasks to directly impact bid profitability and project success.
- • Engage with complex project types including commercial new construction, tenant improvements, equipment retrofits, and design-build mechanical scopes.
- • Utilize HVAC estimating and takeoff tools such as FastEST, FastDUCT, FastPIPE, QuoteSoft, Trimble Autobid Mechanical, PlanSwift, and Bluebeam to execute accurate cost modeling.
- • Communicate clearly and effectively with U.S.-based teams, maintaining a neutral English accent and professional verbal communication standards.
- • Work independently in a remote environment with prior experience supporting U.S. commercial contractors strongly preferred.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 2+ years of experience in commercial HVAC or mechanical estimating.
- • Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with HVAC estimating/takeoff tools such as FastEST, FastDUCT, FastPIPE, QuoteSoft, Trimble Autobid Mechanical, PlanSwift, or Bluebeam.
- • Solid understanding of HVAC systems including AHUs, RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, fan coils, ductwork, piping, and building automation controls.
- • A neutral English accent and clear verbal communication skills required.
- • Prior remote experience working with U.S. contractors is strongly preferred.
