Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • We exist to make humanity more free by delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack.
- • We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software.
- • Speed and scale are our key differentiators.
- • Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.
- • We hire people who care deeply about this problem space.
- • The Commissioning Team is working on key problems such as standing up a Cx program for 10s to 100s of GWs of DCs this decade, developing plans for Cx and QA/QC for first-of-a-kind modular data center designs, and driving development and implementation of automated L4/L5 commissioning.
- • The Commissioning Engineer will lead pre-commissioning through Level 5 commissioning for HV, MV, and LV electrical systems, including generators, generator paralleling switchgear, transformers, UPS and battery systems, switchgear, ATS/STS, PDUs, busways, RPPs, grounding, and lighting control, across multiple sites.
- • The Commissioning Engineer will review and develop the Testing & Verification program with commissioning agents and engineers, confirming every electrical system meets design and operational intent before it goes live.
- • The Commissioning Engineer will act as the owner's commissioning lead for electrical scope, coordinating general contractors, designers, and vendors across concurrent projects and resolving conflicts before they hit the schedule.
- • The Commissioning Engineer will run site commissioning end to end: inspections, safety enforcement, progress tracking, and issue resolution from first energization through functional testing.
- • The Commissioning Engineer will lead the final operational handover, ensuring every electrical system, its test record, and its documentation is ready for live service.
- • We're looking for a Commissioning Engineer who has personally commissioned HV, MV, and LV electrical systems, generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS, ATS/STS, PDUs, busways, and grounding, at hyperscale or mission-critical data centers.
- • The Commissioning Engineer should have run commissioning phases end to end, from factory witness testing and pre-functional checks through integrated systems testing.
- • The Commissioning Engineer should have diagnosed and resolved issues during startup under time pressure, and be able to trace a fault through a control scheme without waiting for someone else to find it.
- • The Commissioning Engineer should have coordinated general contractors, designers, and vendors across multiple live projects at once without losing track of open items.
- • The Commissioning Engineer should maintain test results, punch lists, and commissioning reports as they go, not reconstruct them after the fact.
- • The Commissioning Engineer should write clearly enough that a test report or handover package reads as decision-ready, not just data.
- • Bonus: ASHRAE or BCxA commissioning guidelines. NETA test specifications. PLC and EPMS control systems, automatic and semi-automatic switching schemes. Mechanical systems commissioning exposure.
- • We offer a competitive total compensation package (cash + equity), retirement or pension plan, in line with local norms, health, dental, and vision insurance, and a generous PTO policy, in line with local norms.
- • We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
- • Fluidstack is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
