  • • Standard Bots, a pioneering force in America's industrial robotics sector, is seeking a dynamic and strategically-minded Communications Lead to spearhead our earned media initiatives and serve as a pivotal communications advisor to our CEO. This unique role operates at the critical nexus of Silicon Valley's influential tech media landscape and Washington D.C.'s policy-driven discourse, demanding a candidate who is adept and experienced in navigating both arenas.
  • • As the Communications Lead, you will be instrumental in elevating Standard Bots' brand visibility and public perception. Your primary responsibility will be to craft and execute a comprehensive earned media strategy designed to generate significant buzz and positive coverage across a diverse range of platforms. This includes targeting top-tier print and broadcast media outlets, securing placements in influential long-form podcasts, engaging with prominent newsletters, and leveraging social media channels to amplify our message.
  • • A core component of this role involves building and nurturing robust relationships with key media figures. You will proactively pitch and place compelling stories in prestigious publications such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Bloomberg, and CNBC, drawing upon your established network of contacts within these organizations. Your ability to identify and articulate compelling narrative angles will be crucial in positioning Standard Bots as the definitive leader in Physical AI and industrial automation.
  • • Beyond media relations, you will also play a vital role in shaping the policy narrative surrounding our company. This involves acting as a strategic communications partner for the CEO, who is actively engaged in high-level discussions with Congress, the Department of Commerce, and other governmental bodies. You will be responsible for developing and refining critical policy-related documents, including congressional testimony, policy briefs, and other government-facing communications, ensuring clarity, impact, and alignment with our strategic objectives.
  • • Preparing the CEO for significant engagements is another key facet of this position. You will meticulously plan and execute communication strategies for high-stakes meetings and public appearances, ensuring the CEO is well-equipped to articulate our vision and address policy considerations effectively. This includes generating targeted media coverage within D.C.-specific outlets that focus on the intersection of technology, manufacturing, and industrial policy.
  • • As Standard Bots continues its rapid growth, there is a potential for this role to evolve and encompass ownership of the company's overall social media strategy and execution. This presents an exciting opportunity to shape our digital presence and engage directly with a broader audience.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the fast-paced environment of a venture-backed technology startup, demonstrating an ability to build and refine a compelling narrative even as the company is actively scaling. You are not merely a strategist but a hands-on operator with a proven track record of securing impactful media placements and a proactive approach to relationship building.
  • • This role demands exceptional writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality content rapidly across various formats, from intricate congressional testimony and persuasive op-eds to concise media pitches and executive briefings. Your capacity to connect with people and drive initiatives through persistent effort and strong relationships will be paramount to your success.
  • • You will be a key player in defining Standard Bots' public identity, ensuring our innovative work in robotics and AI is understood and recognized by critical stakeholders in both the technology and policy spheres. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on a company at the forefront of industrial automation and to shape the conversation around the future of American manufacturing.
