  • • Serve as the primary steward of NetBox’s global community, fostering authentic engagement across digital platforms including LinkedIn, Reddit, GitHub, Slack, Hacker News, and industry-specific Discords.
  • • Proactively monitor community conversations to identify technical questions, emerging trends, and feedback, then collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure accurate responses and escalate product insights.
  • • Design, launch, and operationalize the NetBox Heroes advocate program from the ground up—identifying, onboarding, and empowering community champions to create content, speak at events, and assist new users.
  • • Highlight real-world success stories from NetBox users and contributors through the company blog, podcast series, community newsletters, webinars, and monthly virtual and in-person community meetups.
  • • Lead monthly virtual community calls, including agenda development, speaker coordination, facilitation, and follow-up to ensure consistent engagement and value delivery.
  • • Build and manage NetBox’s global meetup strategy, coordinating regional in-person community groups in key cities to deepen local network effects and user adoption.
  • • Partner with the marketing team to transform community insights into compelling narratives that drive brand awareness, trust, and product adoption.
  • • Collaborate closely with Product Marketing, Product Management, and the Chief Product Strategy Officer to maintain technical accuracy and alignment in all external community-facing communications.
  • • Work with Customer Success, Sales, and Partner teams to co-create and amplify joint customer, partner, and user stories that showcase NetBox’s real-world impact.
  • • Act as the connective tissue between the NetBox Labs team and the broader ecosystem of practitioners, executives, contributors, and partners, ensuring community voices shape business direction.
  • • Operate with high attention to detail, balancing multiple programs, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations across engineering, marketing, product, and customer-facing teams.
  • • Maintain a strong presence across technical online forums and social platforms, engaging daily to listen, respond, and surface meaningful patterns within the community.
  • • Support the growth of NetBox as an open-source ecosystem by nurturing contributor networks, recognizing contributions, and encouraging sustainable community-led innovation.
  • • Contribute to the company’s culture of simplicity and clear communication by distilling complex technical topics into accessible, community-relevant content.
  • • Align community initiatives with company-wide goals, ensuring that community-driven growth translates into measurable business value and long-term ecosystem health.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 3–5 years of experience in community marketing, developer relations, technical advocacy, or related roles within enterprise technology companies
  • • 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced startup environment working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing
  • • Demonstrated experience engaging and supporting technical communities, ideally in networking, infrastructure, automation, or open-source ecosystems
  • • Proven track record of building, scaling, and nurturing community programs—such as user groups, ambassador/advocate programs, meetups, or open-source contributor communities
  • • Experience with event management including virtual webinars, community meetups, or conference participation
  • • Knowledge and demonstrable experience communicating with and working with technical audiences; ability to learn and speak the language of network engineering or infrastructure automation
