Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own end-to-end AML program for Tilt MX, adapting US frameworks to comply with Mexico’s LFPIORPI regulations, including KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting to UIF and SAT.
- • Serve as the primary liaison with Mexican regulatory authorities (UIF, SAT, CONDUSEF, CNBV, PROFECO) to ensure ongoing compliance and proactive response to regulatory changes.
- • Build and operationalize a Mexico-specific complaints and issues management system, translating the US playbook into a locally appropriate, documented process aligned with Mexican consumer protection requirements.
- • Develop and maintain regulatory compliance policies aligned with CONDUSEF, CNBV, and PROFECO, continuously monitoring regulatory developments and communicating implications to Mexico leadership before they impact operations.
- • Partner closely with the Head of Collections and Mexico operations team to ensure consumer-facing practices — including customer communications and third-party vendor oversight — comply with Mexican consumer protection laws.
- • Lead compliance readiness for the upcoming credit card launch by mapping third-party compliance expectations, identifying and closing gaps, and ensuring all legal and regulatory obligations are met prior to product launch.
- • Maintain a fully audit-ready compliance posture through periodic risk assessments, comprehensive documentation, and acting as the single source of truth for all Mexico compliance activities.
- • Drive compliance culture within Mexico operations by collaborating with business teams to enable growth while mitigating risk — focusing on solutions like “here’s how we do this safely” rather than outright restrictions.
- • Leverage existing US compliance resources and expertise while making independent, in-market decisions that reflect Mexico’s unique legal and business context.
- • Ensure all compliance activities are scalable, reproducible, and tailored to the digital lending environment in Mexico, where regulatory surfaces differ significantly from commercial or institutional finance.
- • Proactively anticipate compliance risks associated with new product launches and evolving regulations, particularly those introduced by the recent AML law that created obligations not previously applicable to Tilt MX.
- • Work in a Spanish-language business environment daily, requiring fluency in both Spanish and English to communicate effectively with local teams, regulators, and global compliance stakeholders.
- • Act as the first and only full-time compliance function in Mexico, building and running the entire program from established foundations rather than starting from zero.
- • Maintain alignment with the Head of Compliance in the US while owning all operational execution, decision-making, and accountability for Mexico’s compliance outcomes.
- • Support the broader mission of expanding fair credit access in Mexico by ensuring compliance frameworks protect customers while enabling product innovation and growth.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 8 years of experience in compliance, with at least 3 years in financial services or fintech

- • Demonstrated experience managing AML/CFT programs: KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and UIF reporting
- • Experience with consumer lending products and associated regulatory requirements in Mexico
- • Fluency in both Spanish and English, with ability to operate daily in Spanish-language business environment
- • Proven ability to adapt compliance programs to new regulatory contexts and act as the sole compliance function in a market

- • Competitive compensation packages and generous equity
- • Flexible health plans with substantial global subsidies
