Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As the Compliance Operations Lead at Govsignals Inc., you will own the end-to-end security and compliance posture, treating compliance as a competitive advantage and product feature rather than a bureaucratic exercise, directly enabling the company to win government contracts and serve high-stakes federal clients.
- • You will build and automate compliance programs for FedRAMP High, IL5, CMMC Level 2, and SOC 2, drive ATO roadmaps, manage evidence collection via CI/CD integration, lead audit readiness, and partner with engineering to embed secure-by-design practices while serving as the trusted voice in customer security reviews and sales enablement.
- • Govsignals is a high-growth AI startup disrupting government contracting by providing an advanced platform that accelerates compliant proposal development, aggregating U.S. government data to empower contractors from small businesses to Fortune 500 firms in securing federal contracts faster and more effectively.
- • You will have end-to-end ownership from day one, report directly to the founding team, and shape compliance as a scalable, productized function that unblocks deals, hardens systems, and scales with engineering velocity—turning trust into a sales asset and compliance milestones into business growth.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years leading compliance or security programs at a high-growth technology or defense startup
- • Demonstrated success achieving and maintaining FedRAMP High ATO or equivalent high-impact authorization
- • Deep working fluency with IL5, CMMC Level 2, SOC 2 Type II, NIST 800-171, and broader U.S. public-sector compliance landscape
- • Proven ability to design and run automated evidence collection, policy management, and vulnerability-tracking workflows
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and executive audiences, including owning customer security reviews end-to-end
- • Experience coordinating red-team, penetration-test, or bug-bounty programs and translating findings into engineering action
- • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, early-stage environment where priorities shift and you own the outcome
🏖️ Benefits
- • Base Salary: $140,000 - $190,000
- • Equity: Meaningful stake in a well-funded, fast-growing startup
- • Benefits: 100% employer-paid medical, vision, and dental (Bronze coverage)
- • Unlimited PTO
- • Direct access to the founding team and end-to-end ownership from day one
