📋 Description • As the Compounding Lab Manager at Hims & Hers Health, Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient production of personalized non-sterile compounded medications that directly support the company’s mission to deliver accessible, affordable, and individualized healthcare solutions. Your leadership will directly impact patient safety and therapeutic outcomes by maintaining the highest standards in pharmacy compounding operations. • You will oversee the daily operations of the compounding laboratory, managing a team of technicians and assistants while ensuring all processes adhere to federal and state regulations, USP standards, and internal quality protocols. This role is pivotal in scaling compounding capabilities and supporting innovation in new treatment formulations. • You will provide direct supervision, training, and mentorship to compounding technicians and lab assistants, ensuring competency in equipment operation, aseptic technique, and SOP adherence. This includes onboarding new staff, conducting competency assessments, and developing training materials to maintain a highly skilled workforce. • You will master and optimize the use of all laboratory equipment, collaborating with suppliers to ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and performance. This includes managing environmental controls, hood certifications, scale calibrations, and other critical instrumentation to guarantee compounding accuracy and safety. • You will partner closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to monitor and validate the quality, purity, and safety of all compounded preparations, conducting routine checks, reviewing batch records, and ensuring compliance with USP <795> and <800> standards for non-sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling. • You will maintain comprehensive documentation for all compounding activities, including environmental monitoring logs, equipment maintenance records, batch production records, and study protocols, ensuring traceability and readiness for regulatory inspections or audits. • You will identify and interpret applicable regulatory requirements from agencies such as the FDA, state boards of pharmacy, and OSHA, ensuring the lab remains fully compliant with all laws governing hazardous drug handling, labeling, storage, and waste disposal. • You will lead the planning and execution of new compounding initiatives, developing project plans, timelines, and resource allocations to support the rollout of innovative compounded treatments in alignment with corporate goals. • You will serve as a subject matter expert for healthcare professionals, providing accurate, timely counsel on compounded prescription formulations, stability, compatibility, and appropriate use cases to support clinical decision-making. • You will author, review, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all compounding processes, ensuring they are clear, up-to-date, and reflective of current best practices and regulatory expectations. • You will uphold pharmacy standards of practice by promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring that every critical check is performed for every compound, every time, to prevent errors and protect patient well-being. 🎯 Requirements • Bachelor of Science degree preferred • 3-5 years of experience in a front-line leadership or supervisory role within a pharmacy or compounding environment • Must be familiar with USP chapters 795 and 800 governing non-sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling • Required experience working in a compounding pharmacy setting • Familiarity with Computer Rx pharmacy software and pharmacy operating systems • Strong ability to teach, train, and assess pharmacy staff competency • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, management, and healthcare professionals • Pharmacy Technician Certification strongly preferred • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and tolerate physical demands including prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting during 12-hour shifts 🏖️ Benefits • Competitive salary and equity compensation for full-time roles • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and parental leave • Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) and 401(k) with employer matching • Employee discounts on hims & hers online wellness products • Commitment to workplace safety with provided PPE and medical clearance for respiratory protection when handling hazardous drugs • Opportunities to lead innovation in personalized medicine and compounding therapy development within a growing, mission-driven healthcare platform
