  • • As a Configuration and Documents Technician at Howden, you will be an integral part of our dynamic Change Team, focusing on enhancing user support, meticulously managing system configurations, and driving project-based improvements within the critical Acturis platform.
  • • Your primary responsibility will involve expertly handling incoming support requests, overseeing the implementation of both minor and significant project-driven changes, and actively upskilling users to ensure the most efficient and effective utilization of the Acturis system.
  • • You will be instrumental in maintaining and elevating the quality of system configuration and document management processes, directly supporting the seamless operation of our business functions.
  • • A key aspect of your role will be to collaborate closely with a diverse range of internal stakeholders, working together to embed best practices and continuously enhance the overall functionality and user experience of the Acturis system.
  • • You will take ownership of the Acturis document suite, diligently creating and modifying templates to precisely align with evolving business needs and strategic objectives.
  • • This role requires performing complex configurations of the Acturis platform, translating intricate business requirements into robust and efficient system settings.
  • • You will work in tandem with the broader applications team, providing essential support for ongoing initiatives and contributing to the planning and execution of future projects.
  • • A crucial element of your day-to-day will be ensuring that users are consistently kept informed and updated throughout the entire lifecycle of their queries, fostering transparency and trust.
  • • You will be empowered to escalate complex or challenging issues to your line manager, ensuring timely and expert resolution.
  • • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date system configuration records is paramount, with a strong emphasis on ensuring all changes are thoroughly documented for auditability and future reference.
  • • You will be tasked with evaluating new Acturis upgrades, assessing their potential impact on existing processes, and developing strategic activation plans in collaboration with team managers.
  • • A significant contribution will be the development of user-friendly guides for Acturis upgrades and the delivery of targeted training sessions to Super Users, empowering them to support their teams effectively.
  • • You will be responsible for creating and executing comprehensive test scripts to rigorously support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new features and document enhancements.
  • • Actively gathering user feedback and development suggestions will be vital, providing structured and actionable input to Acturis for continuous system improvements and innovation.
  • • You will proactively share your knowledge and best practices with Super Users, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improving overall system efficiency across the organization.
  • • In addition to your core responsibilities, you will assist with front-line ticket resolution as needed, ensuring a comprehensive support coverage.
  • • You will contribute significantly to the creation and ongoing maintenance of user knowledge articles, building a valuable repository of information for the team.
  • • Ensuring strict adherence to regulatory compliance is a non-negotiable aspect of this role, including the principles set by the FCA, Howden regulations, GDPR, anti-money laundering laws, the Bribery Act 2010, and applicable sanctions.
  • • You will consistently uphold Howden’s high service standards and established procedures, always acting with the utmost integrity and in the best interests of our clients.
  • • The role may require occasional travel, supported by a valid, clean driving license, and offers flexibility in working hours, subject to business needs, reflecting Howden's commitment to work-life balance.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Minimum of 2+ years of experience supporting the Acturis broking application.
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or equivalent professional experience.
  • • Strong knowledge of broking systems, particularly Acturis, including configuration and document template management.
  • • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
