📋 Description

• As a Consultant Pain Management PAYE with Montu UK Limited, you will play a pivotal role in advancing medical cannabis treatment in the UK by providing expert clinical care to patients exploring cannabis-based medicines, directly contributing to improved patient outcomes and the evolution of innovative pain management strategies in a rapidly growing digital health sector.
• You will conduct high-quality patient consultations, including initial assessments and ongoing management of patients seeking medical cannabis treatment, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based prescribing practices while maintaining rigorous clinical governance standards.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve delivering 4-hour clinical sessions with 15-minute appointment slots, focusing exclusively on prescribing and patient care within a multidisciplinary model where nurses and pharmacists handle pre-consultation and follow-up tasks, allowing you to maximise clinical efficiency and patient interaction quality.
• You will actively participate in clinical outcome data collection and reporting to support evidence-based practice, contributing to Montu’s research and quality improvement initiatives that help shape national guidelines and best practices in cannabis-based medicine.
• Collaboration is central to this role: you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals, engaging in team-based care models that enhance patient safety and care continuity.
• Ongoing professional development is embedded in the role, including access to bespoke specialist training in cannabis-based medicines (CBMPs), CPD-accredited education, and mentorship from leading experts such as Prof Anup Mathew and Dr Gerard Sinovich, ensuring you remain at the forefront of this emerging field.

🎯 Requirements

• Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise in the UK
• Completion of Specialist Training (CCST/CCT) or equivalent certification in Pain Management
• Current registration on the GMC Specialist Register for Pain Management
• Demonstrated interest in or experience with alternative therapies, particularly cannabis-based medicines
• Willingness and ability to participate in structured clinical data collection, reporting, and quality improvement activities
