• • As a Consulting Pre-Sales Systems Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving the adoption of Pure Storage solutions within the automotive sector. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor to our clients, deeply understanding their business objectives and translating them into innovative, high-impact data storage strategies. Your role will extend beyond technical expertise; you will be a strategic partner, a mentor, and a thought leader, actively contributing to both customer success and Pure Storage's market leadership.

• • **Technical Leadership and Mentorship:** Act as a role model and mentor for other Systems Engineers, sharing your deep technical knowledge and best practices. Work collaboratively with Sales Engagement Managers (SEM) to provide unparalleled technical leadership and support throughout the sales cycle.
• • **Customer Business Acumen:** Develop an exhaustive understanding of what drives a customer’s business, their strategic imperatives, and the key motivators behind their decision-making processes. This deep insight will enable you to tailor solutions that address their most critical challenges and opportunities.
• • **Solution Architecture and Design:** Connect the dots between Pure Storage's EverPure portfolio, complementary ecosystem technologies, and measurable customer business outcomes. Design and articulate robust, scalable, and efficient data storage solutions that accelerate customer growth, enhance performance, and optimize costs.
• • **Strategic Sales Partnership:** Partner closely with account managers, specialist teams, and channel partners to craft a seamless and holistic customer experience. Develop and execute strategies that drive revenue growth and secure net-new business by leveraging your technical acumen.
• • **Sales Strategy Refinement:** Contribute to refining sales strategies and tactics, taking command of technical responsibilities to ensure our solutions are positioned effectively and meet the evolving needs of the automotive market.
• • **Customer Delight and Expertise:** Delight customers and internal teams with your technical leadership and domain expertise in storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive storage offerings across DAS, NAS, and SAN product spaces. Your ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts will be key.
• • **Executive Briefing and Presentations:** Undertake compelling presentations, insightful solution demonstrations, and Executive Briefing Center (EBC) activities within your assigned accounts and as needed across the broader SE organization.
• • **Requirements Gathering and Solution Translation:** Skillfully capture customer requirements and translate their business needs into innovative, forward-thinking solutions that accelerate their growth and capacity. This involves understanding their current infrastructure and future aspirations.
• • **RFP/RFI/RFQ Leadership:** Contribute significant portions of, and potentially lead, responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring our competitive edge is clearly articulated.
• • **Interoperability and Validation:** Actively seek out and spur new opportunities for interoperability, functional, and performance testing and validation, ensuring our solutions integrate seamlessly and perform optimally within customer environments.
• • **Roadmap and Planning Collaboration:** Promote mutual roadmap and planning exchanges with customers and internal product teams, ensuring alignment between market needs and product development.
• • **Content Creation and Thought Leadership:** Be an active creator of valuable social media content, including blogs and posts, that showcase your expertise and Pure Storage's innovative solutions. Liaise with product and technical marketing to produce materials such as whitepapers and web presentations that support overall alliance plans and objectives.
• • **Competitive Analysis and Positioning:** Stay current with the competitive landscape, ensuring that all materials and presentations accurately reflect the latest, differentiated solution positioning and value proposition.
• • **Market Trend Adaptation:** Move with market trends and the competitive landscape to promote thought leadership within our organization and among our customer base.
• • **Complex Solution Expertise:** Be recognized as the go-to solution expert for complex Proof of Concepts (POCs) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) calculations, demonstrating the clear financial and operational benefits of Pure Storage solutions.
• • **Drive Digital Transformation:** Leverage your strong knowledge of digital transformation initiatives, including Cloud Native architectures, On-Premise deployments, Public Cloud integration, Provisioning Automation, and Containerization, to guide automotive clients through their modernization journeys.
• • **Deep Technical Understanding:** Possess a deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing solutions, coupled with superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures (FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN).
• • **Linux and Networking Proficiency:** Demonstrate previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environments, including installation/configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems. Familiarity with VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking is also crucial.
• • **Cloud Familiarity:** While not strictly required, familiarity with AWS, Azure, and GCP is a significant advantage, enabling you to discuss hybrid and multi-cloud strategies effectively.
