đź“‹ Description

  • • Babylist is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Continuous Improvement Manager to spearhead operational excellence across our burgeoning fulfillment and logistics network. This pivotal role will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and refining the systems, processes, and visibility tools that empower Babylist to move goods with unparalleled efficiency, speed, and cost-effectiveness. You will be at the forefront of optimizing our entire supply chain, from the moment inbound freight arrives at our facilities to the final outbound shipments reaching millions of growing families.
  • • As the central architect of continuous improvement within our fulfillment operations, you will blend data-driven analysis with strategic process enhancement and cross-functional leadership. Your responsibilities will extend to optimizing our transportation network, ensuring seamless integration with our e-commerce platform. You will be the primary driver for identifying operational bottlenecks, uncovering root causes of challenges, and implementing sustainable solutions that close the loop on inefficiencies.
  • • The impact of your work will be profound, directly influencing Babylist's cost structure, the speed at which we serve our customers, and our overall scalability as we continue our rapid growth trajectory. If you are a leader who thrives in the fast-paced, high-velocity environment of e-commerce, possesses a proven ability to optimize complex warehouse and transportation operations, and can translate raw data into measurable, impactful business outcomes, we are eager to connect with you.
  • • Your core mission will involve leading network-wide continuous improvement initiatives. This encompasses a holistic view of our operations, from inbound freight management and the intricacies of fulfillment processes to the efficiency of our outbound parcel shipping. You will be empowered to redesign vendor-to-dock processes, aiming to significantly reduce lead times, enhance visibility throughout the inbound supply chain, and meticulously optimize transportation spend.
  • • On the outbound side, you will collaborate closely with internal teams and external parcel carriers to drive improvements in cost per shipment, elevate delivery performance metrics, and enhance overall network efficiency. A critical aspect of this role is fostering a robust continuous improvement culture. This involves actively training and empowering our operations teams on Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies, embedding these principles into their daily workflows and decision-making processes.
  • • You will be responsible for defining, meticulously tracking, and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as receiving productivity, dwell times, parcel cost per order, delivery speed, and various cycle times. These insights will be crucial for informing improved decision-making and demonstrating meaningful return on investment (ROI) for all improvement initiatives.
  • • Effective change management will be a cornerstone of your success. You will partner with leadership and frontline teams to ensure the successful implementation of new processes and technologies, championing adoption and ensuring the long-term sustainability of improvements. This requires a collaborative approach, building trust and buy-in across all levels of the organization.
  • • Strong cross-functional collaboration is essential. You will work hand-in-hand with our Supply Chain, Transportation, Engineering, IT, and Product teams to ensure that warehouse and logistics improvements are seamlessly aligned with broader network strategies and system-wide initiatives. This integrated approach will prevent silos and maximize the impact of your efforts.
  • • You will also play a key role in technology enablement, partnering with internal stakeholders to evaluate, recommend, and deploy enhancements to our Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and parcel shipping platforms. The goal is to leverage technology to drive significant operational efficiencies.
  • • Project management will be a core competency, requiring you to expertly plan, execute, and oversee a portfolio of improvement projects, ensuring their timely delivery within budget and to the highest quality standards. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in an AI-forward environment, embracing AI tools to amplify productivity and innovation while always keeping people at the center of our operational strategies.
  • • This hybrid role is home-based, requiring approximately 50% travel to our Columbus, OH Fulfillment Center and, over time, to potential future sites on the West Coast. We prefer candidates located in the Midwest or East Coast for easier travel logistics. Babylist is a remote-first company with team members across the U.S. and Canada, fostering strong relationships through biannual in-person gatherings.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • • 5+ years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, transportation, or supply chain process improvement, with a strong preference for experience in high-volume e-commerce or 3PL environments.
  • • Proven track record of successfully implementing or leading continuous improvement frameworks such as Lean or Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt certification is a significant plus).
  • • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Sigma). Experience with SQL is a plus, as is experience leveraging AI-enabled analytics and productivity tools.
  • • Familiarity with WMS (preferably HighJump), TMS, OMS, and parcel shipping systems. Experience with automation or system implementation projects is highly desirable.
  • • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects using frameworks like RACI or DMAIC, ensuring successful execution and outcomes.
  • • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and gain buy-in from stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • • A hands-on, field-first mindset, willing to travel to fulfillment and logistics sites to directly engage with frontline teams, diagnose opportunities in real-time, and ensure the practical application of continuous improvement initiatives.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary with equity and bonus opportunities.
  • • Comprehensive company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • • Retirement savings plan with generous company matching and flexible spending accounts.
  • • Substantial paid parental leave and Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • • Remote work stipend to help you create an optimal home office environment.
  • • A wide array of perks focused on physical, mental, and emotional well-being, including support for parenting, childcare, and financial planning.
