• • Contract Senior/Lead Backend Engineer role at Upwork Inc., contributing to the Hybrid Workforce Solutions team that supports the company’s global operations and mission to connect talent with meaningful work.
• • Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, designing and developing scalable server-side logic using Java or Kotlin, building and maintaining REST/GraphQL APIs, optimizing databases for performance, implementing security measures, conducting code and design reviews, mentoring junior developers, participating in Agile ceremonies, managing time effectively to meet 40-hour weekly deliverables, and coordinating during core Pacific Time hours (8:00 AM–11:00 AM, with occasional flexibility until 12:00 PM).
