📋 Description

• As Controller at LiveKit, you will own and scale the accounting function during a critical phase of hypergrowth, establishing the GAAP foundation that supports financial planning and analysis while enabling the company to scale its voice AI infrastructure platform.
• You will manage the full monthly and quarterly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis, while owning revenue recognition under ASC 606 for complex usage-based and consumption models, sales tax compliance, deferred revenue waterfall, and audit and tax management.
• You will join a fast-growing, remote-first company powering voice AI applications for industry leaders like OpenAI, Salesforce, and Spotify, where you’ll build accounting systems and controls from the ground up in a high-impact, startup environment.
• You will have the opportunity to build and lead an accounting function from scratch, gain first-audit experience, shape financial systems roadmap, and contribute to board reporting and fundraising efforts while working alongside world-class engineers on open-source initiatives.

🎯 Requirements

• CPA required
• 5–9 years of experience as a Big 4 Controller or Senior Manager at a VC-backed SaaS company
• Deep ASC 606 expertise with hands-on experience building or owning revenue recognition policy for a SaaS company with usage-based or consumption revenue models
• Prior experience leading a company through its first audit or managing annual audit processes at a Series B/C company
• Proven NetSuite experience with prior implementation or heavy operating use
• Startup mentality with ability to build accounting processes, policies, and controls from scratch in a solo-initial role
