Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the financial heartbeat of Qohash as our first dedicated Controller, transforming raw numbers into the strategic insights that will steer a rapidly scaling cybersecurity company from Series A to market leadership. You will architect and run every aspect of accounting, reporting, and compliance while partnering directly with the CEO, CFO, and Board to turn financial clarity into competitive advantage.
- • Build and lead a world-class accounting function from the ground up—designing policies, selecting and implementing systems (NetSuite, Bill.com, Expensify, etc.), and recruiting future team members who share our obsession with accuracy, speed, and transparency.
- • Produce timely, GAAP-compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that tell the story behind the numbers; deliver variance analyses and KPI dashboards that empower every department to make data-driven decisions in real time.
- • Serve as the primary owner of the annual operating plan and rolling forecasts, translating ambitious ARR, churn, and burn targets into detailed departmental budgets and cash-flow models that keep us at least three moves ahead of the market.
- • Establish and maintain rock-solid internal controls and SOX-ready processes that satisfy investors, auditors, and future acquirers while still allowing the agility a remote-first, high-growth SaaS company demands.
- • Manage all external financial relationships—banks, auditors, tax advisors, state registrations, and insurance brokers—negotiating favorable terms and ensuring we remain compliant across every jurisdiction in which we operate.
- • Partner with Sales Ops and Legal to design scalable revenue-recognition policies for subscription, usage-based, and professional-services revenue streams, eliminating friction in deal desk negotiations and accelerating time-to-close.
- • Collaborate with People Ops to build equity administration, payroll, and benefits accounting workflows that delight teammates from onboarding through exit, while ensuring ASC 718 and international payroll compliance.
- • Drive cost-optimization initiatives across cloud infrastructure, vendor spend, and travel, surfacing actionable insights that extend runway and maximize every dollar invested in product innovation and customer success.
- • Champion a culture of financial literacy across Qohash—hosting lunch-and-learns, creating self-service BI reports, and mentoring functional leaders so that every teammate can connect daily decisions to company-wide outcomes.
- • Prepare board and investor packages that distill complex SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, magic number, runway) into crisp narratives that inspire confidence and secure follow-on funding.
- • Stay ahead of evolving accounting standards (ASC 606, 842, 326) and cybersecurity-industry regulations, translating changes into proactive policies that keep us compliant without slowing growth.
- • In short, you will be the financial co-pilot who enables bold, mission-driven builders to create a safer digital future—turning disciplined fiscal stewardship into the rocket fuel that powers Qohash’s next chapter.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a SaaS or high-growth technology environment; CPA required.
- • Deep expertise in GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and SOX-compliant internal controls; prior NetSuite implementation strongly preferred.
- • Proven track record of building and scaling accounting functions from early-stage through Series B or beyond.
- • Advanced Excel and financial-modeling skills; experience with SaaS metrics and board-level reporting.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote-first culture with flexible hours and quarterly in-person retreats in inspiring locations.
- • Competitive salary plus meaningful equity in a mission-driven cybersecurity company poised for breakout growth.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents, plus a $1,500 annual wellness stipend.
- • 20 days PTO, 12 company holidays, and a "recharge week" every July to protect your mental health.
